Forget becoming a virgin again...I'd settle for being as in-shape as I was at 18...

Queens in ancient Greece traveled to the healing center at Epidaurus from time to time to have their virginity renewed. I rather doubt that the temple priests did plastic surgery. But I've always wondered exactly what they did do. Any idea? Anyone?

Liz Taylor went for a hymenoplasty. Told her doctor it must be kept secret. He said no problem. When she awoke she saw a big vase of roses. She said, who sent the roses? The doc said, they are from Joe in the burn center. He wont's to thank you for his new ears.

I never understood the appeal of real virginity, and now men are supposed to find fake virginity attractive?

Why not start a fad of surgically implanted lower lip plates, like those that some African women wear? The rings look ridiculous, the procedure would be painful, expensive, and could go wrong in spectacular ways, and men could be blamed for the whole fiasco. It's just the thing for Western women.

I tried to talk two women out of breast augumentation surgery last year. Both looked fine without the procedures. Of course they both went ahead and both are happy with the results.

I cannot fathom the appeal of self-mutiliation.

What a great idea for a gift certificate for second, third, etc. marriages. Better than a new toaster, maybe?

she decided to undergo hymenoplasty, which involves reattaching the hymen, as a special gift for her husband.

Humans are flipping weird!

"What better gift to give my husband than revirgination"

Maybe the husband should give her the same gift. You know, fumble around for awhile and then go to sleep 10 seconds later!

Many who undergo the procedure, which costs between US$1,800 ($2,900) and US$5,000, also ask that their vaginas be tightened, doctors say. She added that such procedures were gaining in popularity in part because they were made affordable for the masses

Are these the same masses that are clamoring for national health care because they can't afford $45 for the pediatrician if their child has pneumonia?

Old joke: Tired, past-middle-aged floozy sitting at the bar, crying in her beer. Man walks up to her and says 'why are you crying?' She says 'I want to go back in time, to have a man with six inches and who can make me bleed.' So he punches her in the nose and screws her twice.

I'll go back to lurking now; no need to call the admin moderator...

Just a thought...."But she was a virgin, how could she have given me herpes (or syphillis or gonorrhea or aids, etc.)"
yikes... this is a scary possibility. Hopefully there are some major std tests done before the procedure.

Talk about "rolling back the odometer"! Fraud is what it is.

It also sounds like there are a lot of women who, despite all the so-called "empowerment" of the feminist movement and the sexual revolution, deep down have lingering regrets or maybe even guilt feelings about giving it up before marriage.

This is just so bizarre, as if being a virgin is ony about a thin piece of tissue.

Notice how the article never addresses the fact that maybe these women should actually be virgins? Perhaps saving themselves for that one, exclusive man who will marry them and give them children might be os some value?
