I never had much use for Joe Biden, and enjoyed as much as the next Freeper the ribbing he's taken over his record-breaking bloviation at the Alito hearings.
But while never high, my regard for him has just sunk much, much lower.
Wolf Blitzer just interviewed Biden in the context of the poignant scene of Mrs. Alito crying during the today's hearings when Sen. Graham recounted some of the unfair intimations of bigotry that the Dems leveled at Alito.
To Wolf's credit, he played more than once the footage of Mrs. Alito's distress. I would note that at least twice in the last week or so Rush Limbaugh has mentioned his respect for Blitzer.
In any case, Biden was clearly on the spot, and began with some vague generalities about the need to find a better way to determine a nominee's views than the current confirmation process.
But within seconds, Biden went on the attack, essentially blaming Alito for his wife's tears. He effectively accused Alito of lying about his knowledge of the activities of CAP, the Princeton alumni group of which he was a nominal member. In this way, he justified the harsh line of questioning by Kennedy and others that ultimately left Mrs. Alito in tears.
Well, what's sauce for the goose, etc. After all, we all remember the nasty, partisan attacks to which Senate Republicans subjected Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.
Oh, wait. There were no such attacks. The Republicans were perfect gentlemen. Confirmation blood sport is strictly a Dem game. Despicable.
CNN ping to the Today Show ping list.
Biden is a jackass, a liar and a disgrace.
On his good days.
Here is what I emailed them:
Hello KSKY,
I was *extremely* disappointed in a news report I just heard on KSKY during the 6:30 PM report.
Your reporter said that the wife of Samuel Alito left the hearings today after Senator Lindsey Graham pressed the nominee with questions about whether or not he was a "closet bigot." Then the reporter quickly went on to the next report.
No context was given, and an uninformed listener would have reasonably drawn the conclusion that Lindsey Graham was responsible for causing the woman to cry.
The truth, of course, is that Ted Kennedy and Diane Feinstein had attacked Mr. Alito's character and implied that he was a bigot, yet this was not reported in any way. Lindsey Graham asked his question, and then quickly assured Mr. Alito that he knew he was not a bigot.
Fortunately I did not depend on the reporting of your station to get the truth, or I would have been left with a distorted view of reality, as many of your listeners no doubt were.
In the best case, KSKY has demonstrated very irresponsible and incompetent reporting in my opinion. In the worst case, you have shown that you have the same liberal bias that is earning the contempt of fair-minded people across America.
I do not understand why this was allowed to happen.

this guy has no shame
"Biden is a jackass, a liar and a disgrace."
Ya, but he probably stole Kennedy's response.
How outrageous! Do you feel this was intentional on KSKY's part, or just a dumb blunder?
LOL. I admit that I had to read your post a couple times before getting it!
That's why I believe that on issues that matter people should watch or listen to the actual event to form their own opinions.
We can't depend on this current media they are too lazy to get it right.
Biden is a jackass, a liar and a disgrace.
That's on one of his good days.
Alito is a closet bigot like Biden is a closet patriot.
GMTA - see #4.
tomorrow morning Katie Couric will be describing how the mean, hateful Ms. Alito was smearing the poor, innocent DemoncRAT senators.
LOL. Good one!
Sure, Joey.
Trying to accuse Alito of driving his wife to tears is REALLY going to repair the damage you've done yourself and your party today with the American people.
Good for Blitzer to show the clip.
Left out prick....
I've been FORCING myself to watch these hearings. I want it seared into my brain what evil, pompus, bloviating morons make up this committee...and that side of the isle.
I loathe them. Seriously. They are an embarassment and a disgrace to our fine Nation.
Judge Alito has smacked them down time and time again. Wish I could say that that part of it was sweet, but the damage these Dem nimrods do to the fabric of our nation and our society just makes me heartsick. They are NEVER taken to task for their behavior. It's infuriating!
