And yet we are losing. You connect the dots......

I swear SandRat, once they dig up all the weapons caches in Iraq, that whole country will be 3 ft closer to sea level.

There are even folks on FR that go off that way.

How? Can't they read? Or are they buried in the New York Times?
It never cesses to amaze me.

Hmmmm.... Well, Miller's owned by South Africans. I'd go with Busch.

More good news we'll never see on the MSM, but I'm always delighted to see these articles. Particularly the references to Iraqi forces doing (or starting to do) their part. I do have a question, though, and am never afraid to look like an idiot on FR: what's an "air-insertion mission"?

Coalition forces found dead bodies, killed several insurgents and detained one other, and discovered numerous weapons caches throughout Iraq this week, U.S. military officials in Iraq reported today. Coalition forces found seven murdered bodies at the Rustimiyah sewage plant today. All the bodies showed evidence of torture, officials said. The bodies were taken to the local police station. Officials provided no other details. While conducting an air-insertion mission in Baghdad today, Task Force Ironhorse soldiers killed several insurgents, detained one and discovered a significant weapons cache.

"Air Insertion" refers to troops being transported to their objective, and deploying from aircraft, either helicopter of parachute drop.
It usually is referring to heliborne ops. An air insert allows remote objectives to be hit rapidly and without tipping off the enemy, like a ground operation would.

Thanks very much. I should have figured that out, but the reference to this "air insertion" happening in Baghdad threw me off, since I thought these would happen in more remote and inaccessible areas. But what you say applies to any area, and I thank you for the info.

Air insertion involves a high pressure pump and should not be done by amateurs. :-)
I, too, was temporarily thrown off for the same reason.

Following the firefight, soldiers discovered two dead insurgents wearing explosives-laden suicide vests. Head shots?
