Schwarzenegger's re - election chances up
The Argus ^ | Jan. 13, 2005 | Steve Geissinger

A recent poll shows the born-again "moderate" Republican governor has gained back some popularity, especially in the Bay Area, and is now in a dead heat with Democratic competitors.

"Our survey demonstrates that Schwarzenegger's retreat from the more conservative rhetoric and agenda he brandished during the latter part of 2005 has paid off among middle-of-the road voters," said Melinda Jackson, director of the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University.

The governor's job performance rating among voters in a Democrat-leaning state has climbed from 36 percent positive and 53 percent negative in September, to 40 percent positive and 51 percent negative this month.

No one is going to argue your point on the Democrats. The radical left succeeded in taking over that party lock, stock, and barrel 32 years ago for good. But, I'll be damned if I let those same factions of corrupt and decayed leftist evil hijack the Republicans, too. Unfortunately, they're already succeeding, those "Republicans" are called "moderates", which are nothing but leftist Democrat cross-dressers AKA RINOs. Ah-nold is a prime example numero uno of one in California... The nephew-in-law of a Democrat President, a Democrat U.S. Attorney-General and Presidential Candidate, and the manslaughering senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, and the son-in-law of the running mate of George McGovern, one of the most extreme-left America-hating tickets in the history of the United States. I won't bother mentioning his own father's political affiliation during WW2, but it wasn't our side, either.

So, again, I ask, why in the hell would WE nominate someone of that far-left political pedigree to lead the largest state in the union when he shares virtually NONE of our core CONSERVATIVE beliefs ? See, that's why we're losing, if we haven't lost, the war already. The enemy camp is already in charge -- of OUR own party !

The red counties all voted for the props, including Orange country.

That has no real bearing on how high the turnout was among Republican voters.

Also, people(republicans) are not pleased with Arnolds performance, a republican should hold to republican values.

He did - and it cost him dearly, apparently. It looks like he's going to ignore the people that ignored him now. You reap what you sew.

He IS a dem, the only reason he ran as republican was so he could run in the recall election.

This is a blatant lie. Schwarzenegger has always been a Republican.

You sir have NO credibility whatsoever.

Furthermore, he most certainly could have run as a Dem in the recall election. There were a lot of Dems on the ballot and a number of Republicans and other parties as well. You seem to just be making things up as you go along because you have no argument.

Arnold needs to go down to a big defeat. His hard shift to the left is such a betrayal that he must be made into a poster boy.

I don't think this is going to happen. Just the opposite is going to happen. Dems elected to office more recently are now "complaining" about the issues that Repubs usually are on about. The governor has been doing some business which will maintain incomes and revenues for the state -- benefitting the state as a whole. Check mate.

Could you ever vote for a dem, or encourage anyone else to?

Ever? I voted for the peanut farmer and guvinor moonbeam. Once, each and never again. That realization (never to vote dem) was before the xlinton travesty. Demoncraps aided and abetted a traitor. Each and every one of us in the country are tainted by xlinton's touch, and the closer the touch the more tainted the individual. The demoncrap party displayed to me how traitorously communist they have become. No, I'll never vote for a demoncrap!

... Anyone on this forum who advocates voting dem is on the wrong forum.

Unless that is their ultimate goal ...

One way for McClintock to win for LG while Ahhhhnold goes down would be for McClintock to get more votes than any of his opponents. Even a plurality is a winning vote total.

I am not as opposed to Ahhhhnold as I used to be but I am every bit as enthusiastic for McLintock to restore the California GOP and California TO the GOP as ever and then some.

Of course, I live in Illinois and will be concentrating on getting rid of Dick "Eddie Haskell" Durbin. How bad is Dickie Durbin???? Durbin is so bad that I would gladly vote early and often (it's the Chicago way even though I live in rural Illinois) for Barack Obama if they ran against each other. Fortunately, that won't happen. Maybe we can get rid of both before Obama is sworn in as president.

FairOpinion: Voting for ANYONE of any political party who has the hysteria and social issue positions of Barbara Boxer to go along with the inherent dignified conduct that is no better than that of Maxine Waters, the knee-jerk support for publick misedjamakashun (in a state near the very bottom of the performances nationally even among publick misedumakashunists) and now matched by the economics of Hubert Humphprey has just GOT to be an unacceptably bad idea.

I guess it depends on the meaning of "fair," huh?

Choose a slogan:

California: The Illiteracy and Innumeracy State!!!!

California: The Bankruptcy State!

California: The Eccentric State!

How about turning Nevada into beach front property (Nevada: The Pacific Paradise!)? Even with legal cathouses and gambling, Nevada is more socially conservative (civilized) that California.

Are any of Ahhhhnold's supporters here known to be pro-aborts???? Pro-lavender hoopla????? In favor of "broadening" our attitudes and our system of tax deductions for those engaged in interspecies unions????

Did you know that, even where there are committed interspecies "unions", neither Bowser nor Persian Fluffums can visit Linda Lovebeads of Rio Linda fame when she (?) is hospitalized, does not automatically inherit Linda's estate on Linda's death and is ineligible for the "spousal" benefit provisions of the mossbacked narrow-minded Social Security Administration???? No Medicare, Puddycare or Poochiecare, either. To say nothing of the discrimination against parrots and the humans who love them. Did I mention polygamy????

Dale, with all due respect, how many Republicans are like you? The majority of California Republicans are lazy. They want all or nothing at all...and that's why they repeatedly get nothing at all.

if that's true, then this forum is useless twaddle, isn't it?

Absolutely not and quite the contrary. This forum does have an impact on partisan politics.

Freepers were among the first to identify Schwarzenegger. They spread the word. They were part of a small but vocal group that exposed him and helped derail his liberal dreams.

We still have a lot of work to do. The Austrian is still out their trying to increase spending, raise taxes, increase the size of government and restrict our freedoms.

Now you're taking credit? I thought the ilk disavowed any of the damage done to Arnie? Get your story straight.

"F"O: You seem to "feel" that Ahhhhnold is a Republican. Are you a pro-abort like he is?

Do you "feel" that California needs to send an humongous pro-abort delegation to the 2008 GOP convention, despite the status of the California GOP as a "post-office" Republican Party???? (For those in Rio Linda, the comparison is to the Deep South GOPs of the 1950s and earlier that existed only to provide postmasters' jobs to the party "faithful" / nowadays bigger jobs and contracts and MONEY, lovely MONEY!!! to docile windtunnels who otherwise play ball policywise with the Demonratic forces among us.
