Israel rules Pollard not prisoner of Zion

JERUSALEM, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Israel's high court ruled Monday against convicted spy Jonathan Pollard's request to be deemed a prisoner of Zion and repatriated from the United States.

Pollard, a civilian U.S. Naval intelligence analyst pleaded guilty to espionage on June 4, 1986, and received a life sentence and a recommendation that he never be paroled.

He was granted Israeli citizenship in 1996 after Israel recognized his status as a spy and pledged to fund his legal expenses, the Jerusalem Post reported.

However, in court the government argued that Pollard cannot be granted the status because Zionist organizations and activities are not banned under U.S. law.

Pollard's wife, Esther, told Army Radio she found it "unbelievable" that Israel would work to release killers in other countries but let Pollard stay in prison.

Saying that "Israel should not exist" is neo-Nazi/pro-terrorist speech, as were comments by several others who were pinged very early on to this thread. Saying that the Jews should be moved elsewhere is neo-Nazi speech. Ahmadinejad recently said essentially the same and was even criticized by leaders of some of the more terrorist-appeasing nations for it.

For one thing, Israel has compelled the USA to take a moral stand for something. WE AMERICANS would not have it any other way.

That's about it. And as someone whose family members gave their lives liberating Europe from the Nazis I resent being called a neo-Nazi. Some people forget that the jews were not the Nazis only victims. No are they the only people on earth who have experienced genocide or injustice. That may not be PC enough for people on this thread but it is true. So they should be careful when they throw that term around. And for the people whose main contribution to the war on terror is their blind support of Israel, you should be careful about who you call a terror sympathizer. The Americans who truly know what the war on terror is know that Israel has not helped us in this matter at all. That is about all I have left to say on this thread.

I ain't Jew enough to sign up in the Israeli Military. That would be for what is the only nation in the world that is actually standing up for truth justice and the American way.

I think that they do what they do because they must. Israel, as always, will be the the setters of the standard of conscience that the world, that Nations will be judged by.

3. Passed on information on Soviet tactics and weapons
4. Passed on information on Arab tactics
5. Set back Iraq's nuclear program? (OK Israel did that for itself, but we have benefited.
6. Traded captured terrorists for American hostages
7. Traded weapons with Iran for American hostages
