Rev. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, says it's "an absolute revolt against God's design" if husbands and wives purposely avoid bearing children.
On his Web site and other articles and interviews, Mohler argues that "marriage, sex and children are part of one package" and that "to deny any part of this wholeness is to reject God's intention in creation and his mandate revealed in the Bible."
In a CNN interview, the Baptist leader added, “We grow up by having children. Without that responsibility, we have a generation of perpetual adolescents just growing old."
Or Rush Limbaugh.
I am very disappointed that my daughter has decided not to have children. But, I am respecting her choice. She is a truly dedicated teacher, who has a true "calling" to the profession.
She, weeping desperately, told me one day that she couldn't see giving up teaching to raise her family, and also couldn't see how she could do a good job as a mother, and handle the 12 hour a day job that her teaching job demands.
I told her that she could look at her teaching as a form of nurturing children and young people. I hope you would agree.
Why don't you try reading the article? He's talking about married couples and married couples only.
Albert Mohler is very conservative morally and absolutely does not endorse sex outside marriage, period.
Nor would he have any problem with a single person being both chaste and childless.

Fear not. The Muslims evidently do obey this commandment, therefore they are apparently more godly than we, therefore they are favored by God. By letting the Muslims win, we therefore will have satisfied the will of God. QED.

Some persons are simply not cut out for being parents and if they are capable of realizing this of themselves and do not have children they are wise. That doesn't mean they should be condemned to living single either.
Many valid reasons exist for married persons not to have children. One is a parent having a genetic disorder that would effect their children. They may not wish to see their offspring acquire the disorder. Another is the health of the mother. The mom could possibly not be able to carry a child.. The mother may have to take medications that would cause birth defects to a child. Their income may prohibit it. They may have jobs that would severely limit their time with the children for example being doctors.
Children bring happiness to many parents. Biologically I have none nor will I ever. It wasn't a matter of not wanting it was a matter of it could have killed my wife to try. I do have two step daughters I helped raise. The preacher needs to focus his energies on more pressing matters such as stopping mothers from abortions rather than laying guilt trips on ones who simply choose never to conceive to begin with.
I feel much the same way as you, but I have 3 kids. I felt like a nobody because of a "design flaw" in my body I am unable to produce breast milk. You should have heard the comments and seen the sneers of the breast feeding do gooders. It's a superiority complex. No matter what your lot in life some people just make you feel crappy. The thin make fun of the fat, the childbearers the non child bearers, northerners vs southerners. It's just life. Happiness and fulfillment come from loving yourself inspite of others. I hope that your charity work has given you a lifetime of fulfillment. I think it's wonderful.
I figure that's why my sister has three. I can spoil them and not have to live with the consequences.
Mohler wants to gets publicity, even if he has to come across like a nut case.

I've seen to many people have kids for the sake of having kids (or to get welfare checks) and then treat their children like garbage or crap and abuse them.
If your not capable of loving a child and raising them properly, then your also not worthy of having a child and shouldn't have one.

My mistake. I'm married and for some reason I thought he was addressing married men and women. I'm glad he wasn't.
