MEMPHIS, Tenn. — They sang like angels for their audition on Tuesday's 'American Idol' premiere, but a pair of Tennessee twins may sound more like jailbirds by the time the show goes live from Hollywood.
Twenty-eight-year-old Terrell Brittenum has been in jail since Jan. 10 on an outstanding warrant for charges related to the illegal purchase of a car in Rockdale County, Ga.
He and his brother, Derrell, are accused of using another man's identity to buy a 2005 Dodge Magnum in June.
The Commercial Appeal newspaper reports that Derrell is expected to turn himself in on the same charges of forgery, theft by deception and financial identity fraud.

Now it’s time for the twins. They sing an original song, and they are fantastic. Simon looks really surprised, and Paula is about to melt into a puddle. Next, Terryl sings “My Girl.” He’s great. He’s cute and has a really charming way about him. Derryl doesn’t take Simon’s suggestion that he sing “My Guy,” but instead does “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.” He’s so good that Randy claps along. Paula declares them the best twins ever. Randy and Paula quickly say yes to both of them, making them the first of the day to advance. The brothers run down the street in celebration, waving their gold Hollywood sheets.

The first set of twins was better anyway.
I thought they were awesome singers. Anyone who can belt out old motown stuff that well has talent for days.
Crap. I've just admitted I watched that show...
Look at it this way, their version of Jailhouse Rock will have depth and feeling to it.

LOL me too. Isn't it funny how "nobody" watches the show yet is has so many viewers? ;-)
I'm sure it wasn't their fault. Bad economic conditions growing up, "The Man", lead paint, take your pick.
The second set was pretty good, but the first set was impressive. Still, as well as they sang, the producers and editors must have known about the charges prior to airtime, so I wonder how bad the rest of the field must have been if there was nothing to show in their place.
Terrell and Derrell, eh? Cute. I bet they have sisters, named Berrell and Sherrell, too.

I am glad they were caught for their thievery and identity theft. I hope others who might aspire to be an entertainer see this and consider their actions during their young years. CRIME DOESN'T PAY!
What a shame. They were top contenders this season.
Isn't this what Idol love for publicity's sake?
Were they the older ones or the two that said they were 16? There were two sets of male twins, both black. Not sure if they are the first set (which I think, they looked older) or the ones from last night.
