Code Pink Leader Has Tantrum at Walter Reed - 01/27/06
January 27, 2006

Posted on 01/27/2006 9:46:07 PM PST by tgslTakoma

There I was, across the street, a six lane street. Just me. And my little camera.

I stood quietly on the empty sidewalk taking pictures of the Code Pink protest at Walter Reed. The one that used to be at the main entrance to the hospital, until they forgot to renew their permit for that location.

Now, they've taken to infesting a location down the street, in front of a small sidewalk park, but still in front of the hospital.

I had gone down alone, with my camera and tripod to document their little public protest.

I had less than a minute's peace to take photos before Allison Yorra and Ann Wilcox of Code Pink came across and told me that I would have to leave the empty sidewalk, across the street from their protest, because they had a permit for where I was standing.

I told them I wasn't disrupting their protest across the street, and that I was holding no signs but simply taking photos. They told me that I was not allowed to be there, and that the police would remove me. I encouraged them to call the police, because I wasn't demonstrating in their protest area, just taking photos, in their protest area where they weren't protesting. They initially declined to call the police, preferring to "handle it themselves."

By now, "Princess", Weasel and some guy with a black beret had joined Allison and Ann around me. They began to block my camera, which was focused on their public protest across the street. No matter which way I turned, there was Allison and her bully-boys.

So I stepped off the sidewalk and into the curb lane of the street, where MPDC does not issue permits unless the road is closed. Allison and the bullies quickly followed. I'd move. They'd move in front of me. I'd move again. They'd again block my view.

Here are a few photos I took:

Allison Yorra - Code Pink

Allison and "Princess" who both love to call our president a fascist, as they freely protest at a military hospital and try to bully a lone photographer.

Weasel scurries across the street to join in the leftist fun and games.

Allison's good side

I got lots of photos like this. Y'know, for a woman whose organization loves to sneak into places like the Dem and Republican conventions, the John Bolton hearings, various Rumsfeld hearings and events to unfurl banners and disrupt the events for the fawning MSM cameras - she sure does seem to dislike this camera operator.

Allison has help from Black Beret Guy to stop me from taking photos of their public protest.

Black Beret Guy and Ann Wilcox of Code Pink.

Allison and "Princess" - Her profile is definitely NOT her good side.

Allison got really bent out of shape when the other camera folk came down to film their gang assault on me. In a fit of anger, Allison Yorra yelled at us, calling us a bunch of nobodies and that nobody reads our blogs.

Photography's been my hobby since I was 12 years old. I inherited that from my dad. I have photos of him taking a photo of me taking a photo of him.

My kids bring books with them when we go anywhere, because they know Mom stops all the time and takes photos of the darnedest things.

Now, if I was lobbing water balloons across the street and yelling, "Neener, neener, neener!" ... I'd allow you to say I was acting like a four year old.

You are entitled to your own opinion.

I have one ping list that covers all topics.

I'll remove you from my overall ping list.

Great, more drama from them. Did they learn this from the Paris Hiilton School of Attention Whores?

Get a grip. I went down the street, by myself, so as not to give the PinkOs a reason to start a ruckus.

One question for you: Do you ever wonder how many IEDs can be bought and built (in Iraq) with $650,000 (US)?

Probably not a puny or insignificant amount. I have met guys at WRAMC who were recipients of Code Pink's "insignificant" contribution to the Iraqi insurgency.

You'll really enjoy our four-cornered Freep much better than the two-cornered one you were at last year. Our message is very clear to the cars going by, and they respond very favorably.

Last night several carloads of WRAMC folk stopped to talk with us and they were absolutely thrilled to see and hear up-close the response from cars passing by. It's got to do their hears good to know that so many people agree with our pro-troops signs.

See you next week!

Can't say that I heard about Code Pink donating $650,000 to the Iraqi insurgency. Got a link to a story I can read?

No need to feel bad. I went down there to take a few photos and I figured I'd be less of a burr under their saddles if I went alone. It's not like there was a lot to take photos of. I think they only had 10 people there last night. I would have been done and gone in two minutes, had Allison just pretended I was a nobody Washington Post photog. and let me do my thing.

I miss you, too, rr. I keep trying to do like you, and melt into the scenery as I take photos; but it doesn't work for me, for some reason.

You will let us know when you're back in the area for any visits, right?

Thanks for the kind words, but I didn't go down there and take photos from across the street thinking that it was going to be dangerous or confrontational; and it shouldn't be. There were six lanes of traffic between us. I guess I need to get that new Halliburton satellite cam that can count nose hairs...

I, for one, am getting sick and tired of people like you who have the nerve to sit behind their computers and criticize people who are actually doing something. We are there to support the troops, who have by the way come out just about every Friday night and thanked us for being there. Just this Friday night several gentlemen stopped there cars and got out and shook our hands and thanked us for supporting them. Last week, a young man and his wife stopped on their way to stay at a hotel for the weekend. The young man couldn't speak well because he'd had throat surgery after being in Iraq. His wife spoke for him. She told us he wanted to thank us for coming out and supporting him. He had tears running down his face. We have young men, come out in their wheelchairs to stand by us.

Now maybe it doesn't matter to you if all these young men were to see would be the Pinkos protesting them, just like when our young men and women came back from Vietnam. To me, whose son served in Iraq, it matters.

Aggravating the Pinkos is just an added bonus.

It's know skin off my nose if you don't want to read our "silly" threads. Leave the real work to the adults.

Please remove me too from the overall pings You are in charge of. I can now find my way around well enough to read and comment on things of my choosing. And the automatic pings bring in a few items I don't wish to be part of my list of reads. Code Pink mostly is one I don't want to keep track of. Thank you.

Have you read Medea's account of the Chavez speech down there? I have it linked on our blog. Quite the account of Socialist dignitaries up there with Sheehan on stage.

Next time take reinforcements with you! I don't have to carry a sign, and you shouldn't have that much fun all alone! Please share.

Sure. Try this link. At the end, you can see links to the Agence France Press story and the Turkish Press report as well. They just handed over the money and supplies at the border, and not to US troops either. Their money went to buy bombs to kill and injure Americans and coalition forces.

And Jodie Evans (also of Code Pink) blogged from the leftist World Tribunal on Iraq last summer, where the gathered leftists voted to endorse the resistance in Iraq. You can read more on that here, with a link to the mentioned blog page.

They crossed the line when they gave aid to the enemy. IMO

If all they have done is move down the street, maybe we need to FReep that area.
