Pakistanis 'Killed In US Strike' (Saturday Night)

Pakistanis 'killed in US strike'

Two Pakistani nomad women have been killed after a rocket fired across the border from Afghanistan landed on their tent, Pakistani officials say. Four children were hurt in the attack late on Saturday in North Waziristan.

Locals say US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan fired four rockets into Pakistan's tribal area after coming under fire from unknown attackers.

A US spokesman confirmed coalition forces had returned fire into Pakistan, but was not aware of casualties.

Post 'attacked'

The incident is the third this year in which civilians have been killed inside Pakistani territory in apparent missile strikes by US-led forces who are hunting al-Qaeda and Taleban suspects in the mountainous border area.

A number of villagers lost their homes in the Bajaur strike

Pakistan complained twice in January to US-led forces after two strikes within a week left at least 26 people dead in North Waziristan and in the Bajaur tribal area.

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf said on Saturday that "a close relative" of al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri had been killed in the second of those attacks.

But a number of local villagers also died and there were protests against the US in Pakistan.

In the latest rocket attack, officials say US-led coalition forces fired rockets from the Shankai checkpost in the Afghan province of Khost.

"Two women of a gipsy family were killed and four children were injured when a rocket hit their tent late Saturday," an administration official told the AFP news agency.

He said the children were being treated at a hospital in nearby Mirali district.

US military spokesman Mike Cody said that a security post on the border in Khost had been attacked from the Pakistani side on Saturday afternoon.

"The coalition forces identified this as coming from the border and co-ordinated with the Pakistan military and fired artillery rounds at the point of origin," he told AFP in Kabul.

The US has about 20,000 troops in Afghanistan, but Pakistan does not officially allow them to operate across the border.

Common sense would dictate you shouldn't put up a tent near a war zone...That begs the question "Why were they there ?"

Good grief. Will we ever learn? We tell our troops to get the job done, but first put shackles on their arms and legs. And then we blame them when anything goes wrong (or right)!

Paks told us not to attack on their territory again. So watch ya gonna do paks fly your fighters up to meet ours and die horribly? They are the ones at fault they let these thugs operate in their country and the US will continue to strike them.

"after coming under fire from unknown attackers."

Looks like the Pakis should try to keep folks on their side of the border from attacking folks on the other side of the border, or bad things might happen.

Remember, this whole emphasis or new rule that there should not be civilian casualties is something the global left put out to shackle the US military. While civilian deaths are regrettable, there is no rule that civilians can't or won't be killed in war zones. The US should not accept that and I don't think they have. Civilians have always died in war and will continue to do so.

The rule against civilian deaths applies to soldiers rounding them up and mowing them down. It does not apply to warfare.

Almost 3000 Innocent Americans died which created this scenario in the first place, lest we promote and recall the tragic events of 9/11.

Just find a MSM outlet willing to promote the memory of such an event however.

Typical Marxist Media crap. Not only takes the enemy's word at face value, they make it their headline, but when the U.S. states a fact, it is a "claim".

Sometimes all the death and destruction in the world really weighs me down, in this time of instant global information the accumulative effect is to create a new sensitivity among civilized peoples to our responsibilities to our fellow man. We see now that the heart of so much human suffering is not starvation or disease, those are symptoms not causes. At the root of most of this suffering is the disease of Islam upon the world. Humanity would benefit greatly if we identified and isolated Islam and united in curing it, by advancing Christianity at every contact point with the Islamic infection.

ROTFLMAO!

More like the MSM story "devout US occupant killed by overzealous mongers willing to toss freedom out the window because of a simple mishap by an individual frustrated by the workings of conservative political antics in the USA".

Very interesting, thanks for the link. I'd say two steps are in order:

1. Grant diplomatic recognition to the "Islamic State of North Waziristan."

2. Declare war on the "Islamic State of North Waziristan."

Since the "Islamic State of North Waziristan" is not a signatory to any of the Geneva conventions we are not obligated to be restrained by them either.

Umm, blam?

Why don't you try complaining to Hezbollah or their ilk about women and children being killed first.

Because the Muzzies like to TARGET women and children of 'infidels'.
And then hide behind their own...

Cheers!
