It could very well be a joke. I live in the Raleigh Area so I read the Raleigh paper a lot. Barry Sanders fancies himself as a humor columnist. He isn't at all funny but if this is in keeping with his normal columns it is a misguided attempt at humor.

Not very powerful...quail are tiny, they are good eating, and you don't want to tear them up with major shot. In my opinion, more trouble than they're worth to clean and prepare for eating! Not a lot of meat.
When I hear about the horses, cattle, and other LARGE animals that are being slaughtered (and you do NOT want to know how it's done) for meat here and in foreign countries, this silliness over Cheney's accident is typical liberal, "oh BOY! we've got him now!" crap.
Until you have been bird-hunting, know how to use a shotgun, and have a bird dog who knows what he's doing, please refrain from further comment. Or, if you prefer, please visit us here in the Texas Panhandle and see how we take care of prairie dogs.
