One beer. At lunchtime. The infamous incident took place over 5 hours later- more than enough time for one beer to metabolize.

HOWEVER...expect to hear ONE BEER ..turn into "was drinking" by the MSM...can't WAIT to hear Hysterical Chrissy on this topic.

I see Cheney said no one was drinking.

Kennedy and Clinton laugh about Cheney shooting his friend. For real.

I think thoughts like yours are best kept to yourself at the present time. The man is obviously upset and all you want to do is start more speculation about when he will cease to be VP. January 2009 sounds about right to me - sorry if that upsets you.

We are very fortunate that Pat Buchanan is not a Republican anymore. I think it is more like one of the 30 RINOS found in between the Senate and the House.

Ok, so it happens at say 5:45. It takes half hour to get him to the ER.

These are WASHINGTON TIMES:

6:50 p.m While aiming for a quail, Cheney accidentally shoots fellow hunter Harry Whittington, striking him in the face, neck and chest with numerous pellets of birdshot. Medical staff, Secret Service agents and members of the hunting party administer first aid.

7:00 p.m. The Secret Service notifies the Kenedy County Sheriff's office of the incident. The sheriff requests the chance to talk to Cheney, and arrangements are made for an interview Sunday morning.

7:20 p.m. An ambulance transports the 78-year-old Texas lawyer to a nearby hospital in Kleberg, according to The Associated Press.

7:30 p.m. The remainder of the hunting party returns to the ranch house. White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card tells President Bush that there has been a hunting accident, unaware at the time that the vice president was involved.

8 p.m. After talking with Katharine Armstrong, whose family owns the ranch and who accompanied the hunting party, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove tells Bush that Cheney has shot Whittington.

Evening Cheney and members of the hunting party dine at the ranch, and sheriff's deputies who heard reports of an accident arrive to offer help but are turned away, the AP reported, adding that the Secret Service retracted an earlier statement that the deputies sought to interview Cheney.

9:15 p.m. Whittington is flown to a hospital in Corpus Christi and is treated in the intensive care unit, the AP reported.

Right.

So when you find an inhuman mechanical droid capable of performing the duties of VP without even a glitch in its mechanics from time to time we'll consider amending the Constitution so you can have your perfect never a foot wrong VP.

Until then, chew around this little fact. Cheney is the VP until '09 and you'll just have to take it and deal with it. He isn't stepping down, they don't have a special deal to prep the administration's choice for Prez with a successor. He's a WONDERFUL VP that has been an immense asset to this administration, unlike the departed Colin Powell.

So history will record.

Luckily for you, it won't record that post.

**A VP should never put himself in a position to harm the President (which is something Cheney has done over and over again) whether by action or demeanor.**

Does your doctor know you're out of your padded cell?

It's not a question of Constitutionality but pragmatism. The press is always looking to destroy Republican by an means they can, they sure don't need any help.

How many did he say he had? And WHY does it matter if he was out of the " bar " and hunting? There would be a major time relapse, They would NOT let him hunt if drunk.
Is the MSM THAT dim?
I am more concerned about his friend, I am sure Mr. Cheney feels horrid.

We had a great thread going about that Dr. yesterday - she gave $1000 to Kerry and to the Dems in 2004. Freeper Starwise dug up some good info on the "good Dr" - what a Democrat SHILL she turned out to be! Shame on FOX for falling for it.

Sorry, Minus. 'Pragmatism' doesn't trump the Constitution.

The press will violently and falsely attack the VP no matter what he does. It is just stupid for you to suggest that he should alter his behavior to accomodate the leftist media.

And even worse to suggest that he step down. Use your head, man.

In all fairness, if a person dies due to the actions of another person (ragardless of who that person is) there would be an additional investigation and, perhaps, a grand jury convened.
