The Vice President has given an exclusive interview to Fox News. The entire interview will be released at 6:00 EST with excerpts coming as soon as 2:00 this afternoon.
I think that makes the majority of us.

I applaud the VP for his reserve and disrespect and distrust of the press. He did what he needed to do and took care of his friend first.
It's just unbelievable to me that even most of the commentators on FNC seems to think that he could have issued a press release earlier, as though that would have made any of this different or better. The last thing on his mind has been the media.
We've become a celebrity culture and everyone seemingly wanting their 15 minutes of fame. There are those of us who run in the opposite direction of that and the VP is one such man.
But knowing and seeing how upset he was today, all these days after the accident, I am grieved for him because it's something he'll never forget or forgive himself for. He has handled himself with class and dignity, and I expected no less from him.
(AP) NEW YORK A bicyclist has filed a $10 million lawsuit against CNN anchor Jack Cafferty for leaving the scene of an accident.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in state Supreme Court in Manhattan, alleges Cafferty was "reckless and grossly negligent" when he knocked Billy Maldonado off his bike with his Cadillac and drove away on May 14.
A call to Cafferty's attorney was not immediately returned.
Earlier this month, the anchor was ordered to pay a $250 fine and perform 70 hours of community service after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.
A traffic officer and about five pedestrians ran after Cafferty's car to stop him after the accident, but Cafferty drove through at least two red lights and around other vehicles without stopping, dragging the bike beneath his car, according to a police complaint.
Cafferty later told police that he'd seen a man on a bike who may have been a messenger weaving in and out of traffic as he drove south on Ninth Avenue. He told police that when he looked in his mirror, he saw the man getting up off the ground but was unaware he had hit the bicyclist.
Maldonado had told police he was slightly injured. His lawsuit called the injuries serious.

Remember when Drudge broke Monica on a Saturday night and not only did the Washington Post KILL a story about it, they never said another word about it until the following Tuesday?

Back in the days of locally owned newspapers, there was a policy that publishers used. They claimed that their editors and reporters were independent of management. This was done so advertisers could not influence coverage. The publisher who did in fact control coverage told adverstisers that he did not.
Every advertising salesperson was told to tell clients angry about news coverage that even management did not have the right to tell reporters what to report or how to report it.
When broadcasting came along, print reporters would not even consider broadcast reporters as journalists. Radio and early TV reporters were not allowed to join the Washington Press corp.. The Press Corp was only for real journalists ... who only did print journalism.
That is why anchors like Walter Cronkite always describes themselves as former print journalists. Deep in both his and Rather's hearts they were second class citizens. That is why when the New York Times yells squat, Rather,Cronkite, and many other broadcast reporters replied "Yas sah Boss!"
Years ag in an attempt to gain acceptance, broadcasters tended to hire print journalists as reporters and anchors. And those former print journalists demanded and got content independence from management. That in effect made them unaccountable to management, advertisers, subscribers, and viewers.
As a result approval for a broadcast journalists came from other journalists. Journalism is a profession that only reports to its peers. And for many the holy grail is the New York Times.
Thus when Rodger Ailes makes a slight attempt to be a bit more fair with FOX, the main stream media goes ballistic. How dare he not answer to us. Since approval only comes from fellow journalists, they have zero concept of public approval. Now they are faced with an administration that favors Fox. Fox gets the scoop. Soon many Repubican congressmen will figure it out and Fox will get more scoops.
What we call the main stream media will be reduced to covering what they see on FOX. It will tick them off mightily.
The Reporters for ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN are like a musical review in the theater whose performers could care less if the audience wants to come see them. They believe that if no one comes to their show, then it is up to the business people to get them an audience or enough subscribers.
They are totally removed from the real world.
There was a time when many journalists started at small market newspapers and radio stations.. and moved up. In the small locally owned operations they got a smattering of understanding about the real world. But today radio, TV and newspapers are mostly owned by big chains and they get no understanding about how important it is to get viewers, subscribers and listeners. The media is getterin farther and farther removed from the real world.
The Internet is on the verge of destroying the media as we know it. Bandwidth is cheap and getting cheaper. Soon almost anyone will be able to afford enough bandwidth to do video websites. Ordinary people will shoot footage and put it on the web. Some site perhaps much like drudge will be a clearing house where we can get actual unedited footage of news events in close to real time.
Media spin will be obvious to all. Plus elected officials and news-makers will all be able to go directly to people using the web. In the not too distant future a VP will be able to go directly to you and me on the web. He will not need Fox or anyone else. The media will be reduced to covering what we will all see first hand.
There is a new day coming.

OH.,.. Finally.. I have the first song in my Blue Grass suite of songs about the life story of a west Virginia girl.
The song I have written called "Tomorrow's a New Day". It is a song she sings on the day before she gets married. The demo cut will have a Dobro, Banjo, and Mandolin playing 3 part harmony on the break.. It is a new sound. The idea is to use instrumental harmony to reinforce the message of this very happy song. The song makes good use of minor chords and a loving rhythm to convey a very feminine message.
One down and 11 to go....
So far this week I have seen Bob Novak and Bill Press on Fox.
If I recall correctly, those are two of the reasons I STOPPED watching CNN.

Chris Matthew's has become a parody of himself. He needs a spit bucket.
Granted, it's a 2 1/2 year-old story, but it does need to be shoved in Cafferty's face each and every time he tries to make a comment on this incident.
Remember when NBC had an interview with Juanita Broadderick and canned it until after the Clinton impeachment trial blew over?
