If Whittington doesn't make it, I guarantee that there will be some reporter who will claim that he managed to sneak into his room a la Bob Woodward/Casey...
I think that's why they put him in ICU to begin with.
"I love it when a plan comes together. This is really the icing on the cake, getting the media all lathered up and then the final blow, giving the exclusive ti FOX.
This has Rove's fingerprints all over it."
LMAO, I couldn't agree more!!! hahaha.....besides, the only WH assigned reporter who has halfway descent to McClellan over all this was the one from Fox and Brit is the man to do it!
Check out #14.
Or what about potential conflict of interest stories about Feinstein and her defense contractor hubby?
That is what I heard. They said anyone including other patients could get in his room and no one can in the ICU.
You mean, like the poor man actually has a right to privacy? What a concept!
I heard on the radio that part of the reason the docs are keeping Mr. Whittington in the ICU is for privacy reasons. Obviously the hosiptal understands that the media is nuts.
Oh, I like it! Crack addicts!
The White House Clerks Corps, as Tony Blankley said!
"Of course, this provision technically makes the White House press corps not reporters, but receivers sort of glorified shipping clerks, but with the prerogative to rewrite and repackage the material before they deliver it to the public."

Then when htey mentioned Kennedy, was there a specific instance or party offended?
Isn't that great? "Glorified shipping clerks" is probably the best description of the White House press that I ever read!
Isn't that a GREAT piece by Blankley? I LOL reading it:)
Charles Krauthammer said that Cheney probably knew all hell was going to break loose and just said, "Oh, hell, I'll take the heat" so his friend could suffer in privacy for a few hours before being beseiged by the press.
F.J. Mitchell thinks Cheney and Whittington should have a press conference when he's well and make fools out of the press.
I saw that; add to CNN saying that she was a lobbyist last night and the circle is indeed complete.

"National Review posts a transcript of ex-senator Alan Simpson dissecting Cheney for Chris Matthews:
"MATTHEWS: Doesn't he have a special responsibility as someone in line to be President and Vice President of the United States to let people know that something this serious happened this Saturday?
"SIMPSON: Nothing happened to the Vice President, so what did the people of America need to know? Nothing happened to the Vice President, nothing.
"MATTHEWS: But he was the shooter in an accident that shot a guy.
"SIMPSON: That's right.
"MATTHEWS: You don't think that's newsworthy?
"SIMPSON: All I know, Chris, is after a life in Washington, Dick Cheney, and I'm not paranoid, is not popular with the media, they don't like him because he's aloof and he doesn't answer their questions and sometimes he tells them to stuff it, so any time Dick Cheney makes a fluff, it's going to be the news of the day. I have been called by 20 different news agency today as if they had bombed Iraq again. I mean, this is nuts, absolutely nuts.""
I imagine that you are aware of this but it bears reapeating: This sort of prior authorization is essentially required by law.
I think it was dog who reported on another thread that doctors said during the interview they gave earlier that WHittington was placed in ICU for his protection. (Protection against reporters. Imagine that!)
God BLESS good ole Alan Simpson! He nailed it.
