They can start treating David Gregory like the old hag....simply never call on him.
>>>If he resigns, President Bush can install his choice for the 2008 Presidential nominee. The person selected will be given a bit of high level on the job training and get the public comfortable with the choice.<<
Historically, that is not the way it is done. I think Cheney should stay on until his term is complete.
I don't agreee ... If Cheney resigns due to health reasons now... the media will tear him up over this hunting issue and their new perception of a secretive whitehouse. The conspiracy buffs will go nuts and the media will blame his secretive white house as the problem... and whoever the President appoints will be in a tough position to run in 08 after all this drama...
I have no idea what is with the obsession thinking that the Republican nominee has to be the vice president. It's so stupid. The Republican nominee does NOT have to be the vice president. Nor is it likely to help any potential candidate if they become vice president now. I just can't fathom what would make anyone think it's necessary for the next Republican nominee to be vice president. Historically, it hasn't worked out very well. I don't know why people are obsessed with thinking we can't win if the Republican nominee isn't the vice president. It's just ridiculous and it's really aggravating me. Cheney IS NOT and SHOULD NOT go anywhere before January 2009.
