"Serbia has seen a surge of anti-Semitism in recent years, fueled by nationalists who claim that all the republic's problems stem from the powerful Jews who allegedly support anti-Serb policies in the United States and elsewhere in the world."

I've seen more than a few comments by one poster at FreeRepublic alluding to that very thing.

Quite frankly, this whole Serb/Bosnia/Croat thing confuses the heck out of me. They all point fingers at each other and say that they are murderers, Jew-haters, and war mongers.

The Serb supporters at FR make non stop posts about the Terrorist Moslems in Bosnia and the destruction of Serbian Churches by the Moslems, and the Bosnians regard the Serbs as Nazi supporting animals who slaughtered the Jews with glee.

Very confusing

I went to Birkenau years ago It was not well-maintained then the way nearby Auschwitz was, and the buildings were deterioriating. There was anti-Semitic graffiti scratched into one of them, in Italian IIRC. It happens.

These people are ignorant, and their opinions on this subject, and probably many others, are worthless.

Something is wrong with this picture. Why wouldn't they be most upset with Albanian mooslims?

But then... They have every reason to hate us and hate us forever. If they perceive we are the land of the Jews, then the anti-semitism might be understandable. But the fact remains we bombed the crap out of a society that was trying to fend off the islamists. We committed a war crime. One day perhaps we will admit it, but probably not because that would imply that Bush 41's "other" son is a war criminal.

"Anti-Semitic slogans scrawled at WWII death camp"

This can't be true. I heard those camps were imaginary.

There is always the possibility that some Balkan Muslim group did it to draw attention off themselves while they continue burning churches.

What you need to know is that there are many clinton-supporting liars in the press... ALWAYS trying to make the Serbs and ALL Christians look like villians.

I am surprised YOU did not know that!!

My darling, I live in Serbia, and trust me I saw no anti-semitism surge. You may look at articles gy Julia Gorin: "Remember Srebrenica — a.k.a. ‘So what if we globalized al Qaeda!’" (www.jewisheorldreview.com) http://www.jewishworldreview.com/julia/gorin_2005_07_11.php3 and Jared Israel site (www.twnc.net) http://www.tenc.net/ As for WWII you may also find good and reliabile source by Dr. Ruth Mitchell, Jewish, doctor on Belgrade university on outbreak of WWII, she was sister of general Mitchell, founder of USAF in this editorial: http://www.tenc.net/editors.html

As for Serbia, president`s Boris Tadic father is a co-founder of Serb-Jewish friendship society, and his advisor is Leon Coen, Jew. Also, a grafitti on the wall is null comparing to the fact that in most European countries you have ministers and primeministers (Lithuania) that openly support nazi-ideology and denie Holokaust in general.

Now, can anyone explain to me, how it is possible that Germany (killed 6 million, and additional 45 million killed in war) is after just 3 years of Hitler`s suicide a ally of USA, and Serbia, that hase graffitti on the wall, after 6 years is still concidered enemy by USA?
How come that Poland, land overvelmed by antisemitism, and Lithuania, Estonia, ar newly accepted members of EU and NATO, when Lithuanian primeminister openly denies Holokaust and glorify SS?

As much as I support WOT and Israel, USA and Israel MUST support Serbia. Friendship goes viceversa.

I believe you know who George Soros is. The people working for him are no better, be it Czech Republic, Hungary or Serbia.

For more than 10 years they try to invent anti-Semitism in Serbia, one of the very few European countries where there was no anti-Semitism.

I am keeping those scum on the radar screen for quite a long time.

dear, to conclude my point that "Serbian antisemitism" is idiocy formula of George Soros, this is an article of Robert Fisk, ultra leftist, and hater of Ariel Sharon.

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/fisk/article336785.ece

Part abou Fisk spitting on Ariel Sharon and Serbian frmer president Slobodan Milosevic:

"Largely forgotten amid Sharon's hatred for "terrorism" was his outspoken criticism of Nato's war against Serbia in 1999, when he was Israeli foreign minister. Eleven years earlier he had sympathised with the political objective of Slobodan Milosevic: to prevent the establishment of an Albanian state in Kosovo. This, he said, would lead to "Greater Albania" and provide a haven for - readers must here hold their breath - "Islamic terror". In a Belgrade newspaper interview, Sharon said that "we stand together with you against the Islamic terror". Once Nato's bombing of Serbia was under way, however, Sharon's real reason for supporting the Serbs became apparent. "It's wrong for Israel to provide legitimacy to this forceful sort of intervention which the Nato countries are deploying... in an attempt to impose a solution on regional disputes," he said. "The moment Israel expresses support for the sort of model of action we're seeing in Kosovo, it's likely to be the next victim. Imagine that one day Arabs in Galilee demand that the region in which they live be recognised as an autonomous area, connected to the Palestinian Authority..."

NATO's bombing, Sharon said, was "brutal interventionism". The Israeli journalist Uri Avnery, who seized on this extraordinary piece of duplicity, said that "Islamic terror" in Kosovo could only exist in "Sharon's racist imagination". Avnery was far bolder in translating what lay behind Sharon's antipathy towards Nato action than Sharon himself. "If the Americans and the Europeans interfere today in the matter of Kosovo, what is to prevent them from doing the same tomorrow in the matter of Palestine?

"Sharon has made it crystal-clear to the world that there is a similarity and perhaps even identity between Milosevic's attitude towards Kosovo and the attitude of Netanyahu and Sharon towards the Palestinians." Besides, for a man whose own "brutal interventionism" in Lebanon in 1982 led to a Middle East bloodbath of unprecedented proportions, Sharon's remarks were, to say the least, hypocritical."

Now, WHAT Serbian anti-semitism?
Fisk is laughing at Sharons anti-terrorism.

Im going to belive that something else is abou, ANTI-SERBISM of Islamofascists and Soros, Clinton, Allbright yoke.

Hannah darling, before bed, I just want to tall you, that you may find more and more simmilar situations in Serbia. In serbia today, there are 300,000 antisemites. Muslims, living in Rashka oblast (Sanjak) and some 100,000 Albanians living in Belgrade. They demonstrated over toons of their "prophet" and burned Danish and Israeli flags. Yep, there IS antisemitism in Serbia! Not Serb dough.

"Muslims in Serbia demonstrates against Muhammad cartoons

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro-More than 1,000 Muslims marched Friday through a southern Serbia city protesting against caricatures featuring prophet Muhammad.

Although the controversial cartoons have not been published in the Balkan republic, members of the sizable Muslim minority living in Serbia's south marched through the streets of Novi Pazar, 175 kilometers (110 miles) south of Belgrade, chanting "Allah is Great" and burned the flag of Denmark, where the controversial drawings were first published.

Israeli and Norwegian flags were also burned at the rally.

Serbia's right-wing Radical Party, which in the 1990s supported Serb war campaigns against Muslims in neighboring Bosnia and in Kosovo, condemned the caricatures and called them "offensive" to followers of Islam.

The Radicals said the drawings have led to "justified revolt by Muslims everywhere who nurture the deepest reverence for Prophet Muhammad, founder of their religion and tradition."

Serbia's population of 7.5 million includes some 300,000 Muslims. Ethnic tensions persist here since the bloody ethnic conflicts triggered by the break-up by the former Yugoslavia.

The Radicals said the "immoral" caricatures violate "respect for religion and religious feelings, and incite religious hatred and intolerance."

It is confusing. It was Croatia where all of the Jews were first killed.

There were large numbers of Jews in Tito's resistance.
Most died fighting the Nazis.

To say that Jews are anti Serbian is nonsense, and I've worked with Serbs.
They are our friends, or at least, they were until Clinton came and bombed their civilians for the ROP.

Serbia has seen a surge of anti-Semitism in recent years, fueled by nationalists who claim that all the republic's problems stem from the powerful Jews who allegedly support anti-Serb policies

Ethnic Serbs mainly resisted the Nazis during WW2, and protected the Jews from the Croatian Ushtashe and the Bosnian Hanzar (SS all-Muslim brigade). Liberals (including liberal Jews) today are very anti-Serb.
