Major Antiwar concert in NYC ...March 20

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan will be the guest of honor at the "Bring 'Em Home" concert at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

Among the performers scheduled to play March 20 are R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, Bright Eyes, Rufus Wainwright, Fischerspooner, Public Enemy's Chuck D, Devendra Banhart and Peaches, Billboard.com reported.

Sheehan will address the audience at the concert noting the third anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Billboard said. aneane Garafalo will broadcast her Air America Radio show "The Majority Report" live from the concert. Money raised by the show will go to Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace.

I hope we can all make it!

Stipe, as my husband says, left his talent in the closet. He should never have left it. :)

Not only that, but Pete wants to kick the peacecreeps in the rear. He is pro war.
He was really pissed when Michael Moore used his song" Wont be Fooled Again" in his Movie.

Too bad he didn't whack Abbie Hoffman even harder with his guitar.

I don't recognize any of the singers either and I'm also older, so I asked my next-door neighbor's teen-age son. He is not aware of them either. So who the heck are they?

Major nobodies. They'll certainly pull in the crowd with name recognition. Lolol

Don't feel bad; I'm a teenage college student and have never heard of any of them either. This probably means something; I'm taking a wild guess and saying that it means no one would give these "artists" somewhere to "perform" unless they "performed" for the moonbat crowd. I mean, if a crowd will take in Cindy MEMEMEMEhan, they'll take anybody!

Well, I'm old. I don't recognize any of the singers.

I don't know if that's the reason . . . I'm not "old" (30) and I only heard of Stipe and Chuck D. I haven't heard of any of the other clowns listed. But I'm mostly into 50's-80's music so maybe that's why.

Liberals getting to replay their Joan Baez moment. They still haven't gotten over Vietnam. "Anti-war" concert, my ass.

That's a pretty pathetic lineup. Wainwright is the only one out of all of them that I'd be remotely interested in seeing. Also, the Hammerstein Ballroom is not that big of a place. I don't see how this could be a "major" concert.

I don't think it's your age. I've only heard of Stipe and Chuck D.

Imagine a man who could have the lovely Natalie Merchant...and instead prefers another man's hairy butt.
