An Adams County political leader turned himself in Wednesday after, state police said, he drove the getaway car for a bank robbery suspect who had escaped custody by jumping through a courtroom window. Donald Christopher Palesky, 21, of Gettysburg, is a leader in the Pennsylvania Young Democrats, and, until Thursday, was the Adams County coordinator for PACleanSweep.... Palseky has been charged with two counts each of conspiracy and hindering apprehension, all felonies. He was placed in Snyder County prison in lieu of $200,000 bond. State police said two people saw Jack Rotharmel, Jr., 19, climb out a Snyder County courtroom window and into a car driven by Palesky at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday... When Palesky turned himself in about 7 p.m. Wednesday, police said, he told them he had dropped Rotharmel at a department store near Enola, in Cumberland County, earlier that day.... Rotharmel, a former Middletown Borough Council candidate, was apprehended Thursday night.... Rotharmel has been charged with robbing the Swineford National Bank on Route 104 in Mount Pleasant Mills... Palesky had been the Adams County coordinator for CleanSweep since last fall.. As a county coordinator, Palesky was responsible for organizing local activities to promote CleanSweep candidates such as Democrat Alan Henry of Arendtsville... Palesky was Henry's campaign manager the last time he ran to unseat Rep. Stephen Maitland, R-Gettysburg, in 2004....

This is something that if a Republican were involved would be bigger news yet. This guy is not only a Young Democrat leader in PA, but also involved in PA Clean Sweep. Clean Sweep wants to defeat all incumbents in the state legislature after they voted themsleves a big pay raise last year. While I hope the Republican and Democrat leaders who conspired with Governor Rendell to do the raise are voted out, I'm not sure if all incumbents should go. GOP control would shift to Dems if all incumbents were out, although some good conservatives are challenging libs in the GOP primary.

Happy to see young Mr. Clean Sweep will end up in the dust bin of history.

That's a possibility.
But in Gettysburg? WTH, are no places sacred anymore?

I'm a Getysburg College grad so I still keep up on news from outthataway. Seems that IIRC, the G-Burg GOP offices were heavily vandalized during the 2004 campaign. Was anyone ever indicted for that?
