Self-proclaimed alternative energy proponent Sen. Ted Kennedy has strongly opposed an environmentally friendly "wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts and now it appears Kennedy will have his way.
A proposal before Congress would limit the construction of wind turbines and most likely doom plans for the Cape Wind Project, the nations first offshore wind farm. [Editors Note: Read the book that first exposed Sen. Kennedys hypocrisy -- Go Here Now.]
"This is a dire moment for us, declared Mark Rodgers, a Cape Wind Associates spokesman, who said the proposal "would be totally fatal for the project.
The Cape Wind Project would erect 130 windmills in Nantucket Sound and could provide three-fourths of the power needed by Cape Cod and nearby islands, which is now largely supplied by coal-fired plants.
But Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, has called for a ban on all wind turbines within 1.5 nautical miles of shipping and ferry lanes, The Washington Post reports.

Yup, and he got RINO Young to help him. Can't have nuclear, can't burn wood, coal, gas, or oil. Can't have wind farms. But keep the energy subsidies coming. Why do I keep living in this state?

I guess I would be dreaming if Cape Wind Project could push for eminant domain legislation to kick the Kennedy clan out of their massive estates, paying 30% of value, tear down their mansions and build their wind farms.
Oh well that felt good for a moment.

He would be against it if the turbines were 15 miles out. From the shore they look a quarter inch high. That will not interferw with any shipping or ferry lanes. This is same guy who came up the the highway bill, in which a congressman from MA prevented a bridge from being demolished, thus stopping an LNG site from being started. This is all a political game because they don't want to address this stuff honestly.

I had the pleasure of eating with a group of conservatives and 1 Liberal trial lawyer this weekend. When the conversation move to the Cheney mishap, she was not too happy about the references to Teddy boy and his driving abilities. I was in the midst of pounding her about other Liberal ideas when, my Wife gave me a kick under the table to shut me up.
To: ncountylee
All the more reason to build them anyway. I can't think of a better way then to stick it up that slobs rear-end then to build those windmills.
To: ncountylee
Well all he has to do is fit them into his car and drive off a bridge.

What I couldn't believe was finding that The Kennedys had holdings
"in the oil patch" (well, at least in past years).
No wonder they fight nuclear plants and drilling in ANWR tooth-'n-nail.
The Kennedys want $1000/barrel oil for their own interests.
(That is, assuming they are still into some oil sector investing)
