THE ARAB LEAGUE (Boycott of Israel) PDF Document

Looks like its a boycott of goods & services, Although as shown in the previous post DP World and Israeli Zim Line do business together.

Plus this is a very old document and the UAE exempted itself very early regarding third party transactions.

Another red herring.

From the pdf:

"Indeed, in a recent case, involving a
delayed high-profile contract between an
American firm and a local government agency,
UAE government authorities instructed the Abu
Dhabi Emirate, in writing, to exempt the U.S.

However, no problems have ever been
reported concerning the boycott. Although the
Djiboutian government supports the Palestinians,
and has recently made great efforts to identify with
other Arab causes, there has, so far, never been
any mention of the boycott.

While the boycott is no longer a significant issue
in most Arab League countries, it remains a
substantive impediment to doing business in those
countries which still rigidly impose its terms. In
this respect, Syria continues to be the strictest
adherent of the primary and secondary boycotts."

Syria apparently has been the only country that has adhered to the Israeli boycott since day one. Dubai was the first to pull out.

"I dont like the ports deal at all, but it must be done. You need to take the clear thinking pill asap."

Who said I'm Jewish? I'm not justifying anything.

How can you expect Jews to back a party that forces this Arab ran ports thing down our throats?

There's a verse in the bible where God promises Abraham "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee".

Putting our ports in the hands of a firm or nation that supports boycotting the nation of Isreal certanly isn't blessing them.

Why "must it be done"? YOU need to take a clear thinking pill with your kool aid.

This whole port deal seems to be more about Israeli politics than it does about our port security.

It would be ironic that Israel would go out of its way to cut off the President at his knees.

The US has, since the death of Arafat asked Israel to give a nod towards the 'road map' to cut the President some slack on ME foreign policy.

Unfortunately Sharon is out of the picture and the Israelis are dealing with their internal politics by deflecting the coming election and coalition issues with the smokescreen over the UAE port issue.

It's a case of a handful of gimme and a mouthful of much obliged.

At this point the President must be tearing his hair out in frustration.

If you think that a company that boycotts Israel will be a sure safegaurd of our ports, I can see where you are coming from. LOL!

I can also see your hatred for Israel, or Jews, is blinding enough to you that you can not see trhe plain and proven fact that any bunch of evil guys who hate Isreal enough to boycott it will also be to having the US of A as an equal target of hate. What they will do is attack us differently. A boycott wouldn't work! But containered terror will. Your idiocy is ridiculous!

LOL!

And now the clown posse has arrived Mr. Echo Echo. You all can have a hate fest, and celebrate the old Munich Beer Hall days! "Oom-pa-pa, oom-pa-pa, Vere's the disgusting jew-menshen, let's burn his store down, oom-pa-pa, oom-pa-pa!"

What a crazy bunch you are.

I don't know why they're sticking their nose in our affairs. Don't get me wrong Israel is the greatest ally we have next to GB but still think this kind of stuff is wrong.

No matter who wins this ports battle, you do want to have hope that we WILL be attacked, don't you? Yes, it could happen -- I will give you that hope, and the hatreds will find some way to express themselves as long as we -- not you, btw -- are weak and excuse or ignore the haters and evil ones.

Why not include you with us? But you've already hoisted your colors! LOL!

Unfortunately co-operation with the Arab Boycott is a violation of American law. They can't do that and operate here, any more than they can import Cuban cigars. Unless Congress changes the law, unlikely, or the administration suddenly ceases enforcement.

They're simply pointing out that the Dubai firm is in violation of US law, that's all. Why does that get you so upset? We can always look the other way and enforce the law selectively.

I doubt very much that DPWorld will refuse to unload Israeli ships.
