Pastor Beaten by Radicals While Police Watch

On January 12, 2006, Pastor M. Aharon survived a brutal attack at the hands of Hindu radicals in the town of Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh, located about 300 miles east of Bombay in central India. While he was distributing Christian literature, the pastor of Indian Pentecostal Church, who is in his 16th year of ministry, was mercilessly assaulted by a group of militant Hindus until his face was covered with blood from heavy blows to his mouth and nose.

During this violent incident, a mob of over 100 radicals cheered and yelled for Pastor Aharon’s blood to be spilled, inciting the rest of the crowd to turn against him for converting Hindus and Muslims to Christianity. Police stood by as the extensive attack was being carried out, and the constables even prevented the pastor from escaping. Only after Aharon could barely hold himself up did police begin to escort him from the tumultuous scene.

Pastor Aharon, who has led 700 Hindus and Muslims to Christ and established 12 churches, was reminded by his torturers that it was exactly one year since Pastors Daniel and Isaac Raj were martyred with his ministry workers and Bible college students while they were distributing Christian literature. Personally discipling 12 Christians and supervising a dozen pastors as co-workers and assistant pastors, Aharon’s leadership in the community has incensed radical Hindus and Muslims. They carried out their attack plan as a secret mission to keep other pastors from spreading the gospel in India.

When a VOM contact asked Pastor Aharon what was going through his mind during the attack, he said, “I remembered Christ and many others persecuted for their faith in the last twenty centuries.” After enduring his injuries, he was taken to a government hospital in Nizamabad. He continues to receive medical treatment as an outpatient.

The repression continues, and the police continue to stand by. I fully expect a similar incident in the next few days. It was during Clinton's visit to India that 35 Sikhs were massacred in Chithisinghpora, an incident two investigations and a reporter have all concluded was carried out by Indian forces.

"The repression continues, and the police continue to stand by."

The MOST tragic aspect, however, is a this pastor is Pentecostal:

NO OTHER "CHRISTIAN" DENOMINATIONS WILL EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING TO HIS AID AND DEFENSE!!!

Amazing.

That the Hindus and Muslims worked together, that is. Repression and violence against Christians any where in the world no longer surprises me.

My pentecostal mother used to tell me that the Bible says that the last days will see Christians persecuted mercilessly everywhere. I did not understand what that meant and she said, harrassed, beaten, killed, just for being Christian. I didn't believe her. In my little Georgia home (outside Atlanta, before Atlanta gave way to the influx of thugs and gangs) most people I knew was Christian and wouldn't dare utter something bad about Jesus. Even the people that weren't Christian were revered as being religious, such as jews or hindus in the Asian world. They weren't bad, just different was how people in my school treated them. I couldn't conceive of a world where someone would be killed just for believing in Jesus.

I have to concede that my mother was correct. Sad it only took 30 years for that to come about. Even in America, Christians are being attacked in all ways, except physically. Yet.

The final judgment (Tribulation period) will come as a result of such persecution.

What the?
You mean the Christians are actually going to face persecution/martyrdom and are not going to be "raptured" out?

Sounds to me it was Muslims, and the Hindu mentions were thrown in there by some PC clymer.
