Fox News Hires Another Liberal
Media Monitor ^ | 3/2/2006 | Cliff Kincaid

We have been told that we won a dubious award from an anchor for MSNBC for noting the leftward drift of Fox News. He seemed incredulous that anyone could accuse Fox of being anything but extreme right-wing. We've got news for you—the drift continues.

Fox News Channel (FNC) recently hired Kimberly Guilfoyle, a noted supporter of the homosexual rights movement, as the host of a new show called The Lineup. Guilfoyle joined her husband at the 15th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, June 5, 2004. GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance for Defamation, specializes in promoting homosexuality in the media. Her husband is the San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, who led the fight for homosexual marriage.

One of the entries in the 15th annual GLAAD Media Awards was an Oprah Winfrey show on "The Husband Who Became a Woman."

Guilfoyle, who sometimes uses her husband's last name, is an active member in the San Francisco affiliate of the National Women's Political Caucus, a pro-abortion feminist group. The National Women's Political Caucus of San Francisco is opposed to parental consent and notification laws on abortion. It also opposes the outlawing of the gruesome practice of partial birth abortion.

She attracted national attention in 2004 when she was caught "pantomiming eating a banana when talking about her husband's sexuality," according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Guilfoyle insisted the joke had somehow been misinterpreted.

The only shows on FNC worth watching are Neal Cavuto (which I rarely get to see these days) and Special Report with Brit Hume, which I have to watch at 11:00 if I want to see him.

He had Charles Krauthammer on yesterday. He's one of my favorite conservatives.

Fox needs to get her.

Good catch! I believe it's the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

I actually quit watching Fox over a year ago. I never turn it on anymore. One lib after another. If I want to see and hear their garbage I can listen to CNN or any of the others. Now Fox has drifted there. So, it will be internet blogs only.

Fox is only a little to the right of CBS and always has been imo.

There are no conservative leaning "news" orgs.

I think it is a weekend show..

Oh. I see. That way FNC won't miss the boat if a woman goes missing on a Saturday or Sunday. And those people who can't go 48 hours without hearing the latest in the Natalee Holloway case won't go into withdrawls.

I guess if you actually believe that Fox News was a right wing mouthpiece, than this might be something to worry about. I've always thought that they just aren't as much a Left Wing mouthpiece as the other news outlets.

Oh, but she is cuter than that Shep Smith chic!

IMHO the worst new hire for FNC was that hateful old curmudgeon who outed the name of Valerie Plame.

Brit Hume is the best. He makes up for the other 95% of knownothings on FNC.

ED's pretty far out there. I remember her enthusiasm for Tom Daschle. Yuck!
