"They Didn't Die in Vain" - Gold Star Families to Iraq
Half a world away, a contingent of brave young men and women are risking their lives to preserve Americas freedom, liberty and safety.
They are the men and women of the United States military and in their service to Operation Iraqi Freedom they regularly come under attack from terrorist combatants who are intent upon undermining Americas fight against terrorism.
Some times the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces sacrifice their lives in this mission, and the mothers and fathers they leave behind here in the U.S. are known as Gold Star moms and dads.
These parents know their children did not die in vain, they know that their children stand as heroes who helped secure a future for generations to come that will not include the threat of terrorist attacks like we saw on September 11th, 2001.
You can imagine how painful it is for these Gold Star mothers and fathers to endure the constant negativity from the news media about the war in Iraq and the efforts by some in this country to undermine the mission that our troops are serving.
Well, these Gold Star families wish to be silent no longer. They wish to go to Iraq to send a message to the people of this nation and to the leaders of nations around the world: Their children did not die in vain. Their children gave their lives for a heroic and just cause that will help to spread a wave of peace and security throughout the Middle East for generations to come.
Move America Forward the nations largest pro-troop grassroots organization is organizing a trip to take these Gold Star families to Iraq.
Help these Gold Star parents make this voyage to Iraq. Help them go thank those who still serve on the front lines today for helping to make sure the mission in Iraq is completed. Help them to see first hand the new Iraq that is rising up from the ashes of that brutal despotic regime of Saddam Hussein.
Many, if not most of these military families are in no position financially to afford a trip like this.
That's where Move America Forward comes in.

Gold Star Families To Iraq Fundraiser
at the Fior d Italia San Francisco, CA
On Saturday March 11th Fior d' Italia and Move America Forward are sponsoring a fundraiser luncheon for the Gold Star Family Members who are going to Iraq to support our troops. Fior d' Italia is underwriting the meal and all proceeds of the event will go to the cause.
The event will be from 12 PM to 3 PM. The charge for the event is $100 per person or $150 per couple. Space is limited to the first 250 people so purchase tickets early. You can get additional information by calling the Fior d' Italia at (415) 986-1886 or Move America Forward at (916) 441-6197. Valet parking is available at the restaurant for $9.
A great lunch will be served and you will have a chance to meet and support some Gold Star Families and Melanie Morgan from Move America Forward and KSFO radio. Join other patriots and supporters of our military. This will be a great event and the Gold Star Families deserve our support.
We look forward to seeing you on the 11th and God Bless our troops, their families and America. CLICK HERE to support this effort.
This fundraiser will help to off-set the costs of travelling to Iraq, so that the Gold Star Mom's and Dad's can see for themselves and report to the rest of the country what incredible sacrifices have been made in the name of freedom for the Iraqi people, and by extension, keeping America safe from another terrorist attack.
If you cannot attend the Gold Star Families Fundraiser in San Francicso, Please support our effort with as generous of a financial contribution as you can affford - CLICK HERE

This was a very successful event, completely sold out.
A very nice restaurant in San Franscisco.
The owner donated his establishment and all the food so all the money paid by the participants goes to sending Gold Star Families to Iraq.
Not only will it be a great experience for the Families to see all the accomplishments made in Iraq for themselves but it will be a great morale boost for Troops still in Iraq to see the support they have from the parents of their fallen fellow servicemen and women.
A stark contrast to Cindy Sheehan who has no respect for our Troops or Country or even the memory of her brave son who gave his life to liberate Iraq and keep us here in America safe from terrorism.

The owner of Fior d'Italia...America's oldest Italian restaurant, with Melanie Morgan from Move America Forward and KSFO radio.

(That's Officer Vic hiding behind Melanie. They co-hosted the event.)
Melanie Morgan with one of the guests. Florine from Pacific Grove.

Several Gold Star Parents attended and some of them spoke.

I think its great. God Bless those parents that are participating... IMO, they can be the driving force that makes Sheehan shut her hole. I consider them hero's alongside thier loved ones that have sacrificed their lives to protect us.

I want to make a contribution. BUT, I want it only to go towards the trip to Iraq. The link for donations does not indicate that this form is for the Gold Star Mom's trip to Iraq. The form should have a check box or a comments section, or some way to make sure the donation is designated for that event. I'm not against the other Move America Forward events, or activities, but it is just that I want to make a specific donation, NOT a general one. HELP!
friendly suggestion, not a flame:
P.S. The pictures on this page are too large (in kilobytes). I have cable connection and it I see the load bar going pretty slow. Suggest you downsize the images a little.

I hope their trip is safe. Wonder if any MSM will accompany them. Even if they don't, I am sure the troops will appreciate the visit.

Hay that's grate they showed some footage of the event on Channel 7.
You mean this table?
Melanie Morgan was bugging me all night to get her picture taken with you. I finally took one just to get her off my back.

Sorry about the quality of the picture. I couldn't get them to black out the window behind the two of you.

Deborah Johns and a Gold Star Mother

Deborah Johns

Deborah Johns is one of the nicest women I have ever met. She is doing a phenomonal job speaking out for our Military and their mission. Her son is a Marine who has reenlisted and is deploying (back) to Iraq in a couple of weeks.

I fixed the images. I thought they were a tad large also. I have started taking my pictures in a larger file to get better pictures and have finally figured out how to downsize them considerably.
I'll find out for you how to make a donation that goes only to and directly to the fund to send the GSF's to Iraq. May take a couple of days to get a response but I will do it.
This man's name is John and he is a Marine. He also works for Move America Forward and he helped me get my ticket a couple of days before the event.

I think that is an Art Bell moment. Look around carefully and see if there are any spheres floating in the area. Also, check the eyes of the people present, and see if they occasionally double click. Sometimes, the Quartiiks can't help it.
