Just saw on Fox News (Brit Hume's show) footage of the newly elected Liberian president (first woman) Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf addressing Congress.
Her speech was one of heartfelt gratitude to the US and especially to President Bush for helping Liberia become a democracy. If you get a chance, watch it, you may not see it on another network or read about it anywhere. But how refreshing to hear those words "Thank you, President Bush", loud and clear.
I think it will be repeated on c-span2 at 8PM EST or shortly after, she expressed gratitude and praise for the USA.
After C-SPAN airs it, the tape will be destroyed, never to be seen again!!
[But how refreshing to hear those words "Thank you, President Bush", loud and clear.]
Exactly, I was surprised when I heard it and there was actually applause.
I watched her speech this afternoon.
Gratitude for the 108th and 109th Congress and Pres. Bush.
Also, she has strong willed plans for Liberia. She tells her story from childhood to being President. The speech is well worth listening too.
She also makes clear their alliance with the U.S. in fighting the WOT.
How long before the Dims call her a puppet, like they did with Iyad Allawi during the Kerry campaign, when Allawi addressed a Joint Session?
It's the first one on the cspan archives right now.

We live in Colorado and Special Report with Brit Hume comes on at 4pm Colorado Time and then again at 10pm Colorado time. So, we will watch it later. Hope this helps others who might want to see it as well. Just go by your own time zones.
Yes,it brought me to tears. It is so refreshing to hear Thank You President Bush instead of it's Bush's fault!
Also liked her praise of Democracy as a means to financial self-determination, and clearly stating US support is an appreciated gift, not an unappreciated entitlement. Good luck to her.
Liberia has had some tough recent years. I hope the situation is on the mend and wish the new President there well.
I watched it and it was so refreshing.
I felt like a thirsty desert wanderer who finally found an oasis.
Should I insure my video-tape of that speech? :)
More leaders like this woman could bring Africa into our century. I was very impressed.
It will air at 10:25PM EST c-span2.
I saw this lady on Brit Hume's show and she was very eloquent and gracious in her thanks to America and President Bush.
Wasn't she great? She was so well spoken and I was very impressed with her. I'm glad somebody else saw it, and I agree that we'll never see it on the MSM.
Wonderful clips from her speech... Brit gave her ample time on his show. Only on the Fox News Channel... :o)
