My prediction: We will be sold down the river.

My prediction - at least one and probably two new political parties for 2008.

We'll be sold down the river because big business has Bush's ear. But come November and elections, the American people will speak loud and clear and the republicans had better listen.

CRUISING DOWN THE RIVER
Jack Smith

Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
With one you love, the sun above
Waiting for the moon.
An old accordion playing a sentimental tune
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon.

The birds above all sing of love
A gentle, sweet refrain.
The winds around all make a sound
Like softly falling rain.
The two of us together
We'll plan our honeymoon
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon.

"My prediction: We will be sold down the river."

Which may not be too bad, because you can walk across the backs of those that are crossing it illegally.

Listen are my ten points that is needed minimally. I don't know what is in the law, but I'm sure they stole it from me:
All illegals must register under some federal identity program.
All must be fingerprinted and entered in a worker database.
All must show a record of "paid" health insurance policy.
All must show proof of paid annual auto insurance.
All must show worker's comp insurance.
All must show appropriate, valid drivers license.
All must register all family members in the states.
All must pass some basic english speaking skills.
All must pass a bilateral crime database exchange shared between the U.S. and mexico to ferret out the criminals.
All must be a yearly fee to re-validate their status.

Compromise reached on guest-worker plan

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Judiciary Committee today reached agreement on proposals for a new guest-worker program and a plan to allow the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States to become permanent residents. Less than 24 hours after most experts and Capitol Hill watchers believed the committee would be unable to get a bill to the Senate floor by Majority Leader Bill Frist's March 27 deadline, committee Chairman Arlen Specter had brokered deals between some key senators on the complex issue. No formal votes were taken and committee staffs were preparing to spend the next 10 days drafting language that would put in place the compromises reached. It appeared that at least a dozen of the 18 members on the panel would be prepared to back this deal. The committee plans to meet first thing in the morning on March 27. It is not yet known whether Frist will allow the panel to finish and send its bill to the Senate floor or if he still plans to bring up a more limited, possibly enforcement-only measure. But even if nothing scuttles the compromise between now and when lawmakers get back from recess, and if the Senate passes a bill with these elements, there would remain a steep battle to get agreement from the House.

We were sold down the river long ago.
Now they just remind us occasionally that we are nothing to them.
