Just voted for Topinka. I'm not going to get Alan Keyesed by a socialist governor with a 30% approval rating.

For starters, Blago appointed a Black Muslim on his hate crime commission. This appointee blamed homosexuals & Hollywood Jews for the problems in Iraq. Several Jews on the board resigned. Blago is standing by his pick. He favors Blacks over Jews.

He has lots of people support from the rank-and-file Democrats in the city. But the Daley machine is PISSED, and that's what matters if you want to win. Even Dick Mell isn't supporting him. Remember, the Daley machine has been fine helping Republicans before to fit their needs (George Ryan). They'll be fine with a Judy Baar Topinka Governorship for four years.

What disgusts me is how our RINO's refused to turn out for Keyes, or when Salvi was running for senator.

I'm a Chicagoan, but I think we need a PUB party dominated by the downstaters. All the PUBS up here are in bed with the RATS.

If she is Gov. what would change? Would she push for:

School Vouchers?

Less Taxes?

Legal Reform?

Less Govt.?

No it would be more of the same, just different faces.

Oberweis is a total buffoon. He would be a disaster for this state.

I voted Brady and my second choice was Gidwitz my third Tompnka. I'd NEVER vote for Oberweis. I met him during one of his many runs for statewide office (runs he ALWAYS lost) several times and he is vacant of any sense of political ability. He seems to be saying "Hey, I'm really, really rich. Elect me to something... ANYTHING!"

We will have a Topinka vs. Blago fight in the general. Blago will beat Tonpinka and conservatives will be in the wilderness for at least 5 years.

But maybe that is a good thing as we NEED to be RID of every last "Lyin Ryan" Illinois Republican before the Illinois GOP can rebuild enough to have ANY legitimacy whatsoever.

I'm of the same mind set.

I know its always better to have some influence, but the total disdain this current group of "establishment" GOPers has for everything I believe in leaves me no choice.
