Do You Know This Man?
Irey for Congress ^ | 3/22/06 | Friends of Diana Irey

Posted on 03/23/2006 3:50:22 PM PST by Coop

Do you know this man?

For years, many of us throughout Pennsylvania trusted John Murtha. We knew him and he looked out for our interests and our values. But that John Murtha is missing today.

After 32 years in Washington, John Murtha has become part of the problem. To name just a few examples:

  1. John Murtha – Wrong on Congressional Pay Raises. Since 1995, John Murtha has voted 11 straight time in favor of raising his own pay. (CQ #648, #317, #435, #289, #300, #419, #267, #322, #463, #451, and #327)
  2. John Murtha – Wrong on Spending. John Murtha has voted multiple times to raid the social security trust fund – the key to your retirement – to pay for wasteful government spending projects.
  3. John Murtha – Wrong on Health Care. John Murtha has voted to actually make your health care more expensive. He even voted against tax-free health savings accounts.
  4. John Murtha – Wrong on National Defense. John Murtha actually voted to cut spending on our national security by $76 billion. Then, he voted in favor of instituting the draft! And, perhaps most stunning of all, John Murtha spoke out against the brave men and women who are defending our freedom by calling for an immediate withdrawl of our troops from Iraq.

12th District Election Results:
2004
John Murtha (D)- 100%
Unopposed

2002
John Murtha (D)- 73%
Bill Choby (R)- 27%

2000
John Murtha (D)- 71%
Bill Choby (R)- 28%
James N. O’Neil (Ref)- 2%

Closest Race Ever (1974)
John Murtha (D)- 58%
Harry Fox (R)- 42%

His closest race ever was in 1974, which was also his first race. However, in 1972, a Republican won with over 56% of the vote. The seat had previously been Republican since 1943 before the election of John Murtha. Since 1974, only once has a Republican broke 40% against him, and that was in 1980, during the Reagan Revolution. Even in 1994, Bill Choby (who has run against him at least 4 times), mustered only 38%. He is going to be a tough incumbent to beat, espeically since this district has been gerrymandered like crazy. I hope Ms. Irey can do it.

All things being equal, he'd be tough to beat, obviously.

But all things aren't equal, he's attacking one of the foundation blocks that have returned him in the past to Washington;namely national security and and the military.

That plays well in the fever swamps of liberal land but it's a dead-ender in SW PA.

I'm not saying Diana Irey has a cake walk, not by any stretch, but she has a reasonable chance of success, so supporting her is more than worthwile.

So go up to post #29,click the link and send her 10 or 20 bucks, she'll know we're with her! :-)

I'm sleeping in today, but thought I'd post this to brighten your day!

This is Diana and Bob Irey at what looks to be a football game this past fall.

John Murtha was also one of the two nutcases in Congress who voted to renew the military draft.

I knew I liked her, even before I knew she liked football. Any gal that's got the nerve to have pompoms at a football game is aok in my book.

"But all things aren't equal, he's attacking one of the foundation blocks that have returned him in the past to Washington; namely national security and and the military."

You have a very important point here. The reasons he would do this are various:

1. The defense money grab accusations are 'illegitimized' (in the left brain) because he is against 'this' war and is a "Marine".

2. The defense money investigation is 'destabilized' (in the left brain) because he is against 'this' war and is a "Marine".

3. The defense seat he pretends not to want is 'corrupt' (in the left brain) because he is 'defending' our servicemembers and is a "Marine".

4. The medals he requested give him 'absolute authority' (in the left brain) to speak for me because he is 'a hero' with no need to prove it because who would dare question medals a third time (Cleland/McCain/Kerry) and is a "Marine".

5. The long service he rendered to our country grants him 'total immunity' (in the left brain) from scrutiny during a time of war because no one would dare call him a "Weekend Warrior" with reservists and National Guard combat deployments and is a "Marine".

6. The dangers, risks, and the expert policy advise he publicly declares provide him 'balls' (in the left brain) for no one would dare accuse him of giving aid and comfort to the enemy because he dare speaks 'truth to power' and is a "Marine".

I dare.

He is an illegimate, destabilized, corrupt traitor who, with his left brain, deceives himself and others into believing he has absolute authority, total immunity, and balls.

Now. When there is what is known as a shitbird in the Corps, it's a unique situation. A shitbird isn't given free reign to disgrace the rest of his platoon or the Corps, much less put anyone at risk. This is a band of brothers and when one screws up, all suffer. Bad behavior isn't tolerated. Once upon a time, a shitbird who wouldn't bath properly by himself and was 'dirty', caused his platoon to suffer. The platoon took it upon themselves to wrap the dirty shitbird in a blanket, carried him outside, scrubbed him until he understood the definition of a clean Marine, and until he understood dirty Marines were not tolerated.

Murtha is a dirty Marine.

Not only are the rest of the Marines suffering because of this dirty Marine but he is also causing suffering to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard and America itself.

Irey is leading the 'platoon' to scrub the dirt off this dirty Marine, the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, our servicemembers uniforms, our Flag, and our Country. It is not right for patriots to ask those who already are fighting for us to fight a second battle.

God bless her, and God Bless America.

Vow to watch their backs.

I hope he doesn't really understand how he is being used. If he does understand then the darker comments here apply.

If he does not understand than he is just too STUPID to be in the US CONgress! How do you not understand this?

Print media take note: The importance of good word usage leads us to realize that I could have said the smooth one got me hot.

Powerful, freema. I was shaking with anger, and determined more than ever to scrub that "sh!tbird" right out of Congress after reading this.

But regardless of what happens, when this is over the only dishonor will be that which this EX-marine Murtha has brought on himself. The Corps does and will shine as bright as ever.

JR's got all the pitchforks and torches for McCain. We'll claim these for Murtha.
