"didn't appear to be expecting to see tanks rolling"
But apparently, he had enough of a heads up to get his wmd's out of iraq.
public hanging of a couple of those people will put an istant stop to it.... instant!
I'll be the entire former Soviet Politburo secretly directs the Democrat Party.
How else could one imagine such an anti-American cadre of kooks?
I think if the death toll had been in the hundreds or thousands during the initial invasion of Iraq public support for the war would have dropped like a stone.
Our troops did as well as they did because they are the most highly trained and capable military force in the world. It has nothing to do with the "current administration" or his leadership.
Our soldiers fight and live because they are trained to do so. Not because President Bush is "leading" them to do so.
Saddam appeared to get caught by suprise even after our repeated warnings.
My thoughts exactly, but another thought entered my mind. Who is the mole that informed the Russians of our plans? We need an investigation into that SASP.
Here, here! And there are A LOT more names that could be added to the list, such as Feingold, Reid, Murtha, Biden, Clinton, et al.....
"The mole doesn't appear to have done much damage "
I am not sure about that - there were several deadly ambushes of US troops that might have been arranged only with the help of the Russians.
Putin needs to go.
Well, it does have to do with the administration's willingness to speak firmly and follow through with more than more hollow rhetoric.
Granted, the administration had nothing to do with the mission or its successes directly, but that mission would not have taken place had our military not been put in motion by those who were willing to allow it to perform its function when needed.
I don't doubt your assessment of public support. Just note that Saddam Hussein mentioned our withdrawal from Somalia over the death of 17 troops. He essentially estimated the US's fight to be equivalent to Amnesty International's.
That went over my head. Whom is the "the" you refer to?
I can only add, that reality is most difficult for many to grasp, and only then as their world collapses.
or Saddamn just turning the channel to CNN.
The mentality of mindless economic globalization is as wise as the mentality of liberalism.
How many of these leaks were Jag Off lawyers commissioned/appointed by the Clintoons and Jake Reno.
Just more proof of why liberals shouldn't be in our military.
Let me correct that first sentence. Russia WAS as Communist country.
It ain't peaches now but it is not under the likes of Breshnev and Andropov. And there is somebody to thank for that.
Actually, it appears to be reverting back to what it was.
Also, I read that someone saw this story on BBC several yrs ago.<<<
Forgive my poor memory, but maybe it will jog someone else's.
Early in this Iraq war, there were reports of a Britan newsperson, who had gathered up a part of the papers that were abandoned and that he took them home and published them.
I do not recall his name, nor the paper, but do not think that what I read was BBC.
I do recall Freepers talking about them and thinking that we didn't know if he had published all the papers.
So somewhere there is an old thread, or more than one, about those papers.
He took only a box full, it bothered me at the time, I think they came from the war department in Bagdad, but do know they left Iraq, according to the reports then.
Pick a senator, any senator.
We ain't much different in the USA, every 4 years or so we conservatives have to campaign to keep the liberal/communists out of our government.
