Caroll grew up in Ann Arbor where radical liberalism is the norm. I'm not saying Caroll is part of that contingent, but her home town won't think too kindly of her if her statements run contrary of "it's Bush's fault."

Yeah, the translator's death really is a sticky wicket for her, isn't it. The fact that she is showing more concern about how her abductors are viewed than she is for the murdered translator or his family pretty much tells me all I need to know about this PUTRID LIB.

I concur with your thoughts. I was thinking something was odd with her supposed, "kidnapping" even before she got released.

Useful idiot syndrome. Why else would you sit before the press with your bag over your head looking pathetic.

"that would make her an accessory to murder."

If she is a true believer, the ends always justify the means. I agree with the others, I smell a set-up; she might have been in the midst of them, but I think she was there on her own volition and planned to make this a big anti-war "why can't we all just get along" deal" from the start.

What does happen when a female soldier or journalist gets captured by an enemy who thinks nothing about beheading even the harmless? With the leftist media the way it is, the lack of mention of rape might mean there isn't any, or might be that it would mean America's enemies really are despicable and/or the feminists would not put up with admitting there is something that is different between the sexes, and females should not be in the "front lines" (whatever that means in this war!).

A pro-Arab woman might be the same as the media?

"She doesn't just "like" Arab culture, she loves it."

Good! She's infatuated with that culture? Keep that scarf on sweety! Better get married soon, you're getting old! And start making some babies too! Now quit your job, do as your husband tells you and shut up! You have no need to read any books or newspapers. Forget watching TV! Your husband will beat you if he finds out you have or if you've been out alone!

OH and give up your American citizenship too! So you can't come back.

"How do people define treason in this war?

Good question rhombus.

Given the actions of the left and most of the MSM, it would seem we can eliminate this word from our language. It obviously has no meaning in the minds of people who only care about being in the ruling class regardless of the damage done to the country.

she says she was not threatened

Maybe she's unaware (or doesn't care) that her body guard was killed by these people.

OH and you'd better learn how to make that God-awful sound wiggling your tongue with a long loud screech. While you're at it, put on a few pounds too! Arab men love babes that look like old fat nuns!

I Googled to get the specifics on Jill's kidnapping, which took place on Jan. 7, 2006. I found a Boston Globe article written by a Jim Carroll, describing the first and second video tapes released by the terrorists. To paraphrase Mr. Carroll, in the first tape, Jill's goodness and radiant smile come shining through. In the second, she is terrified.
Absolute hogwash.

I'd be scared too if I were in league with a bunch of terrorists and didn't deliver. I stand by my theory that Jill did this for political reasons, and the boyfriend/terrorists did it for the money. This entire episode highlights the motives of all these wannabe major journalists who watched Dan Rather almost get away with skewing a Presidential election. The normal person is appalled, the new wave of reporters are impressed to death.

I'll judge her actions when she speaks from the safety of the US. Till then she's still in danger so we shall see.

She's clearly put on some pounds and doesn't appear as haggard as other released hostages.

Saw this woman on Fox News earlier. She didn't convince, and I immediately thought of that previous fake kidnapping of some 'peace' activists. Another baloney sandwich served up by the marxist media.

"I am especially wary since her parents live in The People's Republic of Chapel Hill, NC.
You beat me to it...

and IIRC, wasn't a journalist released not too long ago who was later found to have received some of the marked ransom money into her own accounts?"

She grew up in the People's Republic of ANN ARBOR

Yes, she was going on and on about the good and plentiful food, and how she was never hit, "or even threatened" she carefully added. And a bunch of other stuff clearly intended to make her 'captors' look very kind and considerate. What a con job!

IMO, it's the commie left trying to put a 'human face' on terrorism.

I think the rifles to her head was a posed scene. She is likely on their side, one of them , as it were. She did what they needed her to do then she left to serve some other function with the press.

She sure is not saying the same things now that she was saying in the videos made during her captivity. Odd.
