How do people define treason in this war?

I said at the time of her "capture" that she seemed far more likely to have been a collaborator than a captive. Subsequent events, especially her public statements, only serve to reinforce this view. She's just lucky her "captors" didn't find her more useful dead.

I was amazed at her cheerfulness and the fact that she is still alive. They don't usually keep real prisioners alive. It smells fishy to me.

I do believe that there is more here than what we are now being told. I am especially wary since her parents live in The People's Republic of Chapel Hill, NC.

She went native well before she was abducted. Expect a littany of anti-American sentiment and islamic rationale from her in the days to come.

Check her underarms. If she has thick patches of greasy smelly hair she's a lib wacko.

She looked very unstable or drugged to me. She kept swinging her head around and wouldn't look directly at anyone. Then she kept messing with her scarf to make sure her hair didn't stick out. I wrote her off a a nut job.

Cynical person that I am, I've been suspicious about this from the moment she was released.
To: JABBERBONK
Well, I don't think she'll make any money on a book deal. Sounds too boring.
To: JABBERBONK
I think her "abduction" is a result of her politics and a man.
In this case, it very well may be that "the boyfriend did it".
Please remember the German "hostage" who was found to have some of her own ransom money in her Berlin apartment, and the oh so dramatic rescue of the Italian Communist reporter who got the Italian diplomat killed at the American checkpoint.
These women went to Iraq with an agenda, and don't deserve one iota of sympathy from anyone. Indeed, they deserve prison for mass manipulation.
As for the driver, if my theory is correct, Jill Carroll is an accessory to murder.

Her statements now are strange. I'll hold off until she is out of Iraq and home for a week or two. THEN I'll begin to question her mental state. No one here has any idea of what they would say in hte hours following such an ordeal. If you think you do, you would be be wrong.

I concur with your thoughts. I was thinking something was odd with her supposed, "kidnapping" even before she got released.

Useful idiot syndrome. Why else would you sit before the press with your bag over your head looking pathetic.

she says she was not threatened Maybe she's unaware (or doesn't care) that her body guard was killed by these people.

I'll judge her actions when she speaks from the safety of the US. Till then she's still in danger so we shall see.
She's clearly put on some pounds and doesn't appear as haggard as other released hostages.

I think the rifles to her head was a posed scene. She is likely on their side, one of them , as it were. She did what they needed her to do then she left to serve some other function with the press.

She sure is not saying the same things now that she was saying in the videos made during her captivity. Odd.

I honestly don't know why they let people like Jill Carroll go to a place like Iraq. In my opinion, if you're not prepared to die, don't do dangerous things. I don't know if she's (1) traumatized by her experience (2) a peacenik who will do anything to further pet causes (3) an idiot who has no common sense or (4) something else I'd care not to think about a fellow human being.
