Mexican flag burned after week of protests

Associated Press Mar. 31, 2006 07:10 AM

Tensions over immigration got a little heated Thursday in Apache Junction.

A Mexican flag was brought to school by a Hispanic student in response to what he said was a racist remark directed at him the day before. After he and other students raised the flag on the school's flagpole, the newspaper said another group of students took it down and burned it.

The burning and ensuing shoving match between the two groups of students happened before most students arrived at the school.

The school's principal said all six students involved will be disciplined.

Security was beefed up after the incident but there were no other problems at the school Thursday.

It that kind of thinking that got us here in the first place!

"Now let's be civil>"

Meanwhile, the damn house is burning.

Take your peace weenie "lets not be like them" attitude and go sit on the sidelines and stay out of the way those of us who KNOW that the enemy doesn't respect anything but getting their asses handed to them.

Lead
Follow
Or Stay out of the way.

These are children. This poorly written article doesn't even say if this is a high school or an elementary school.
Six students get in a p!$$ing contest and we have replies here that are talking about guns.

I just about ready to whip out my common sense and use it on somebody...

So there are some patriotic students out there. For the protesters: Since you love Mexico so much, feel free to haul your asses right back there.

The Mexican flag should not have been flying on that flag pole, but that's no excuse for destroying someone else's property.

The invaders forfeited their property rights when they raised their rag on a pole belonging to and paid for by American taxpaying citizens.

A lot of people with their bodies and cars draped with flags, a lot of public drinking and drunkenness, including fights and civil disobedience.

There was some lib on TV last night making the "if you don't like us flying the Mexican flag you are trashing our heritage" argument on TV last night.

We've already pretty much outlawed the flying of Confederate flags in this country. Heck, most states that had it, are removing the very picture of a Confederate flag from their symbol.

So don't buy into this "don't trash our heritage" bullcrap.

I disagree with you. If we are free to burn the American flag, then we are free to burn the Mexican flag. Ironically the hispanics are waving the flag of a government whose oppressive/ineffective policies their parents chose to flee.

See... I'm totally against burning the American flag, legal or not. It's wrong for SO MANY reasons. But not only that, those who burn the flag are sissified whelps who have no other show of power other than to be a flatulent, arrogant ass for a crowd.

That's why I say we as Americans are better than to emulate the type of behavior exhibited by Pakis and Iraqis. In the end it just makes us look stupid.

Expell the flagbearers... that's a better solution than wasting time and energy burning a flag.

You are correct.

Yep. It's a great opportunity for a white boy like me to get his a** kicked by a bunch of drunk Mexicans.

I do not like it when Americans adopt the tactics of our overseas enemies.

When I read things like this, I wonder what Marquis of Queensbury rules we, or in this case the teenagers, are supposed to be playing by?

NO ONE likes to have their tactics turned back against them. That's why it's the most effective way to fight back.

As for me, I'm boycotting Mexico. A year without a mexican. As much as possible. Let's see if we really CAN survive without the unskilled labor.

To answer, back when I was a kid it was hard to hire unskilled help because it was too expensive. The influx of illegals fixed that. But as usual, people don't know how to work a good thing, it got out of hand, and now it's war.

Tell that to the "children" from Columbine. If they are old enought to walk out of school, raise another country flag over the public school and march in protest in the streets, they loose the "I'm just a baby" excuse for ignorance. They just graduated to adults

This could get ugly. Unfortunately, the MSM will portray the "white" students as racists.

I am offended when I see a Mexican flag displayed or flown on American soil. I wouldn't burn the Mexican flag.

My great-grandparents came here legaly, from Germany. But they were Americans.

I have a German name. No flags.

I wonder if the ACLU will come and help them out if they get suspended from school.

Its difficult to understand how Mr. Bush cant see how his open border policy will make incidents like this common place.
