LIBERTY CITY -- Police in this Miami neighborhood are looking for the parents of a child who was abandoned Thursday night, news partner NBC 6.
A witness told police that a car dropped the child off at about 11 p.m. in the area of Northwest 15th Avenue and 62nd Terrace.
"I've heard of this happening with pets and that's bad, but for this to happen to a child, to be left in the middle of nowhere, that's unbelievable," police spokesman Lt. Bill Schwartz said.
Police brought the child to the police department. She was wearing an oversized, multi-colored sweater and has white beads in her hair.
"This child was seen running down the street on 62nd Terrace from 15th Avenue Northwest, screaming, 'Daddy, daddy' and chasing a car -- a light brown or gold older model vehicle," Schwartz said.
Police canvassed the area but have not located the girl's parents. They also do not know the identity of the child, who they believe is 4 or 5 years old.

Unforgivable.
Welcome to Miami-Dade County.
This just defies comprehension.
There are not too many stories posted here that are heartbreakers. This one sure is. To be called Daddy is a privilege not to be abused.
And the little girl's name is Jawquittiqua....
What can we expect? Libs have created a society where children are disposable and the courts have backed them up. It makes me sick to my stomach.
white beads in hair. hmm. anyone wanna guess her color?
"I was left on the street, with no shoes on my feet/And I watched my mommy and daddy drive away"
A complete disgrace. I hope a good and loving home is found for this poor child.
Where there is life there is hope. I don't know what happened before, but I hope the childs life gets better from here on.

Poor baby.
This photo is posted by the Sun-Sentinel with the caption "Do you know who this child is?"
And before she was abandoned, who knows what else she went through? I hope the parents are caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And then left on a tiny, uncharted, deserted island infested with poisonous snakes and insects and surrounded by shark-infested water.
I wish I'd quit clicking on these links. They always make me want to barf. Anybody think this child will not be warped for a lifetime with this kind of trauma deep within her memory? I hope a good foster home can rebuild her. The terror she must be feeling right now...heartbreaking.
As a former Miami resident, this is a black neighborhood.
As a parent, that just rips my heart out. I cannot image the creature who would do that to their child.
Oh man, this just tears my heart out. If human beings are the best the "intelligent designer" can do, it doesn't say much for the "designer's" own intelligence. Sigh.
This is just, saddly, the logical path from the Roe v. Wade ruling. Once they successfully labeled the child a "blob" of tissue that can be exterminated, then people become immune to what happens to children. People don't care anymore....if life can be ripped apart while inside the protective womb of the mother because it is a burden, then why not abandon a child if it becomes a burden? They are already angling to eradicate the elderly, for what....being a burden on society.
This is the path this nation has chosen to walk. If this keeps up, God is going to have apologize to Sodom and Gommorah.
That is a sad story but then I remember my late Mother and marvel at what an unbelievably great person God created.
It's obvious what both of you are trying to point out.
Any thoughts for the abandoned child?
And it will be hard to convince her that she wasn't abandoned because she's a bad little girl who doesn't deserve to be loved. I can see her fleeing into a teenage boy's arms--and early pregnancy--in about 10 years, unless she's lucky enough to get great foster/adoptive parents.
Tears and prayers for this sweet and precious, innocent, little one.
OK. You are now the third poster in less than thirty minutes to make a racial remark. Sacjac (of recently departed memory) has his "hebes," Thoreau has his "beaners", and you, in response to a sad story of a little girl being abandoned, turn it into something racial.
This place is becoming unrecognizable.
Thank you. You responded while I was still seething. The child has been abandoned and these good conservatives can only think of racial stereotypes.
I swear, I think some FReepers are wearing Klan robes when they post.
Poor baby. I hope they find a loving family for her.
What the hell kind of people would do something like this?
I have had to train my brain to react differently to stories like this one...that this child has been blessed and saved today by the Lord God. As much as it hurts me to read about children who are treated better than week-old garbage, I am left praising Him for His goodness. And though it is hurting this precious child of God right now, she is with people who will not leave her crying on another street corner. Who knows right now, but we maybe are seeing what we always pray for when we hear of another child beaten to death by the hands of a parent. Maybe...just maybe, this little sweetie was pushed out of the car in a moment of her parent's sanity.
And that has to do with what exactly?
You're fortunate, and I mean that sincerely. My own mother left when I was a baby, but even she had enough of a shred of decency to leave me with my father, who promptly pawned me off on one relative and caregiver after another until I was old enough to be warehoused in a working class boarding school for 12 years. The poor little one in the above news story was just dumped on the sidewalk. In my experience, I've known far more people like my mother and this child's father than like your mother. So as brutal as my first post was, it's an honest assessment of humanity from my point of view.
I did not mean you when saying "both".
The RedNeck was the intended target.
My apologies.
You said it.
I'm not surprised anymore actually.
At least she wasn't killed. Sometimes it is better to just let go than go on.
There's that.
There is also all those pretty beads in her hair. That takes hours to do. Somebody cared for her.
And while I am just as apt as the next FReeper to jump to conclusions, as of right now, we have no idea who pushed her out of that car, and why.
While the search is ongoing for her family, we can at least be thankful she is alive.
I think you may be right. The child was abandoned by people who did not care about her. Now, at least she is in a safe place and will be cared for.
I hope perhaps a grandparent who actually loves her will come forward and take her home.
I don't have much in the way of good thoughts about foster care--too many horror stories there, too.
The race of the people is the most important thing to some people, but don't call them racists, cause they're NOT. They say so.
Agreed. Monsters like this are the same as killers.
Oh, I thought this was another Randy Johnson story.
I have seen plenty of bad people who were nevertheless good parents.
I don't want to belabor the point but yes, Mother was truly a great person. Her entire life was her Children and Husband. My Sister thinks she was too kind. I know what she means but that is not really possible. She was also beautiful.
This little girl doesn't look like she has been abused. Maybe some story here but any Father who would do that is worse than worthless.

Don't be so stupid as to lay this abomination on the Designer. There is an active opponent on the scene. Nowadays he frequently wears a disguise. See tagline...
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
You got their future location correct...
What a sweet face she has. My heart just breaks....
Yeah :(
The "designer" created all things, right? That includes the devil (if there is such a thing).

Out front. Make a public example of them.
"The race of the people is the most important thing to some people, but don't call them racists, cause they're NOT. They say so"
Racists come in all shapes, sizes and colors. The only thing parents who commit child abuse have in common is that they are parents. Liberals often blame poor education and poverty when the true cause is a lack of morals and breakdown of the family.
I wonder how many of the "racists" on here aren't DU'ers in disguise, but then I haven't been posting long enough to recognise the names.
