Never underestimate McCain. He managed to get the CFR passed and signed. To me , he is one sorry dude. I remember he was mixed up with the S and L scandal.

This is not about workers rights or fair immigration policies. It has to do with international communist/socialist orgs looking to gain the political upperhand in the U.S..

Posted by JeffHead Jeff links to Mexica.org's 'after protest' pic fest. You can see there what the marchers thought they were marching for.

A poster for Friday’s march. March 31. This poster lists the Latino orgs that are promoting the protests. They are all communist/socialist front orgs.

Here is my analysis of what is going on behind the scenes.

Here is some evidence that 'amnesty' increases illegal entries. These people knew before the demonstrations that the time was ripe.

Smith Act of 1940 This is the U.S. statute that ought to apply to the organized gathering of tens of thousands of foreign nationals calling for the overthrow of our country.

H.R. 4437 At this link you will find a good exegesis of the only bill that doesn't offer some type of amnesty/pathway to citizenship/excuses for illegal entry. It is harsh on employers but has reasonable protections for employers who verify documents that are later shown to be false. It explains that the databases necessary are already in place. It provides for border security.

Understand that the provision that the protesters say is 'racist,' that makes illegals felons, was inserted by the Dems a short time ago. That clarifies why Hillary happened to discover the immigration issue a week before the marches. Why she demonized Republicans as "making Jesus a criminal."

Keep in mind just who organized these protests. Who provided the tens of thousands of T-shirts, the thousands of professionally made signs, the hours and hours of promotion on Spanish language radio and TV stations. It has been noticed that Islamic orgs names and logos appear on some of these signs as well. Remember that NEA teachers and adminstrators are the ones who have assisted the march organizers by providing bussing for their students, hoisting Mexican flags at school and overlooking the truancy.

Don't forget that the last two Presidential elections were nearly 50/50. Think about how our Congress is looking for a way to appease these foreign nationals through legilation. No election necessary. The outcome of legalizing 11 million illegals and encouraging more to come will be a solid lock for the left forevermore in national elections.

Take another look at McCain on TV. His arms are really short -- he looks like a sock puppet. Think what SNL would do with him.

His arms are like that from being tortured by the VC in Nam.

Right now the BP catch 1 in 4 illegals crossing the border. And that's from the BP. That's not my definition of skyrocketing apprehensions.

And any caught over the border are given a citation with a court date that they never show up to. Catch and release.

I think the right approach is to build a high tech wall

I'm for the old fashioned wall. Once you have to start chasing them around the desert, they immediately start costing us money and don't stop until... well at this point they never stop costing us money.

Look, the House and Senate have the tools to forge a compromise. They will craft a bill that will have a weaker House Enforcement component, and a less generous Senate Amnesty component. I don't think we're going to do any better than this. The thing is, we have to get them to actually do the enforcement, and I fear that's the hardest part of all.

I don't even care about the ones here already -- we can absorb them eventually, but if they just keep coming, we're getting swamped.

"You can't blame tancredo for their vote"

Of course you can.

There is more than one reason that each of the various Republicans supported McCain-Kennedy but underlying them all is the recognition that the Tancredo group would never unify with the party and the only way to get a bill enacted was to join with the democrats.

"Then you would condemn us to the status quo. The current process does not work, for us or the would be guest workers/immigrants. You know that we did have a guest worker program once upon a time. It worked pretty well. Big Labor opposed it and it was scrapped, leading to the current mess."

Bullshit. Deport the illegal scum, fine anyone who hires them, and they'll damn well leave. Keep doing that long enough, and they'll eventually quit trying.

Actually, I've got no problem with a REAL "guest worker" program, as long as 1) it offers no path to citizenship or PERMANENT residency, 2) it applies to no illegal currently residing in the USA, and 3) no children born to any "guest worker" is eligible for citizenship. What is it about ILLEGAL that you folks refuse to comprehend?

My office is literally a block away from this church. There are many illegal irish in the area. On McLean ave., the ave. is literally filled with bars.

I will say, the Irish people are overall a very good people and rarely cause troubles.

Hi Owen,
I understand your perspective, and I think there is merit to it.

However, I trusted in the Administration's approach to Campaign Finance Reform, that Bush did not veto it because he was certain it would be voted down in Congress. That was a major mistake, and this just feels the same way.

It's seems like a surreal nightmare that a US Senator would be cheering on illegal invaders and Foreign Nationalists so that their demonstrations will alter, affect, how Congress will make law.. but its real. McCain is treasonous, a scourage of the US Senate.

Go Minutemen.

There's been talk about resurrecting the recall drive from the summer of '01.

Wouldn't that put a chill on his Presidential plans?

McCain will get more then he bargained for if the protests turn violent, and I think that it is extremely likely that they will.

Does McCain realize what the agenda is of the folks organizing these protests are? Does he care?

If he is rooting for these protesters (and he is), then he is rooting for his own state (and others) to be claimed by invaders from a foreign country.

How could anybody possibly vote for this Quisling?
