Saddam Ordered Suicide Attacks on U.S. Targets

A newly translated document from Saddam Hussein's intelligence files indicates that the Iraqi dictator ordered suicide attacks against U.S. targets six months before the 9/11 attacks.

Dated March 11, 2001, the Iraqi memo reads:

To all the Units

Subject: Volunteer for Suicide Mission

The top secret letter 2205 of the Military Branch of Al Qadisya on 4/3/2001 announced by the top secret letter 246 from the Command of the military sector of Zi Kar on 8/3/2001 announced to us by the top secret letter 154 from the Command of Ali Military Division on 10/3/2001 we ask to provide that Division with the names of those who desire to volunteer for Suicide Mission to liberate Palestine and to strike American Interests and according what is shown below to please review and inform us.

The document is signed by Air Brigadier General Abdel Magid Hammot Ali.

While the big media has so far ignored the find, Captain's Quarters blogger Ed Morrissey notes:

"If this translation stands up to further scrutiny, it will provide a substantial answer to the question of Saddam's role in terrorism, both in general and specifically aimed at America.

"This memo will prove that Saddam had no intention of remaining neutralized in the region. He not only funded and encouraged terrorism, but he actively recruited terrorists from the ranks of his own military to carry out suicide attacks on American interests."

It sure looks like the president was justified to go to Iraq

The President was justified in going into Iraq based solely on the fact that Saddam refused to comply with the UN Resolutions that allowed him to remain in power after Operation Desert Storm. Saddam had far too many chances to comply, and he chose not to. It didn't take the translations of these documents to convince those of us who have been paying attention ever since the first Gulf war that this war WAS justified. However, I am extremely pleased that the translations pouring in from these documents will perhaps convince those who are in denial that this war was justified. It took far too long to bring Saddam to justice.

Just keep giving him his due credit here!

The others see our information here and it's up to them to be mature and credit him.

Thanks for the ping, my FRiend.

I have always believed that Saddam was behind the attacks of 2001.

jveritas does not get nearly the amount of credit he richly merits.

Jveritas is one of my heros. In my opinion, he is serving right along side our military men and women. He is making sacrifices in his attempt to translate these documents, he is fighting the enemy using his brain, and I just can't thank him enough for what he's doing for all of us. Jveritas, once again, I thank you!

Good to hear this slowly bubbling into some newsoutlets.

I'm not sure Newsmax really qualifies as a news outlet.

You are most welcome. It's great that Captain's Quarters gave him credit.

UPDATE: Free Republic's JVeritas has been doing excellent work in translating these same documents; see his translations as well. He's doing them for free, by the way, for all of us to see. Pat Fish posted an inteview with him as well.

Yes, Jveritas was given the credit he sooooooooo deserves!

I dusted this one off the other night. For some there will never be enough proof. This was a clencher for me.

Fifth I would suspect that the small group that went through Iran theoretically picked up Anthrax then. That is just a speculation on where one of the Anthrax distribution points was located.

"..It is amazing the suicide bombings in Isreal has basically stopped since the Iraq war has started.."

I suppose that building a strong wall hasn't hurt, either.

Uhhh...Hmmmm. Building a strong wall...?

Nahhhh. It'd never work....

Hi onyx!!! Long time, no post. I've had some heavy reading to do these past few weeks thanks to Jveritas and eyespysomething's ping list (which I am so thankful to be on). I've had to print some of them off so I don't get too far behind. Now if the MSM would get their heads out of their collective derierre's, we'd feel the earth move under our feet (those DU idiots must be throwing tantrums left and right by now). ;)

I remember, quite vividly, that morning. It was my first-born's sixteenth birthday.

As I watched the first reports, my only thought was "Saddam is behind this'.

They should have dropped a grenade in his spider hole.

Can we do anything to remedy the lack of his not being given credit?

It would be nice if he received the accolades he deserved, but it would be even better to get the word out on this, and other Iraqi documents, to as many news outlets as possible. That includes newspapers, tv, talk radio, billboards and of course thousands of Internet sites.

Giving credit to FR or Jveritas is nice, but egotistical. Getting the truth out first should be priority number one!
