At least you didn't blame Bush. (Did you want to?)

It's for the children don't Ya know? Every time I hear it's for the children I cringe... Not only does it snatch our freedom, it takes the future freedom from the "children" as well.

So it makes even more sense to criminalize regular Americans (you know, grandmas who fly with nailclippers, construction workers who go out on Saturday and have 3 or four beers and maybe a shot) than to criminalize people who openly and brazenly defy the law of the land and come across the border uninvited and without review?

We are getting played for suckers. We pay for the Congressmans salary, while they kiss up to Fox and meanwhile write more laws about keeping track of ALL men because a few might not be paying child support, or even better, spending HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, maybe even MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars worried about if a couple of baseball players are using steroids.

Meanwhile, thousand of containers and just as many unknowns enter the country daily.

That is what I am trying to say. Already, we can be arrested and imprisoned for just about anything. Once the fear from the "secret police" is instilled, then the only thing preventing total control of the population is the ownership of firearms.

From G. K. Chesterton: "The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog."

Of course that was before seat belt and insurance laws but it still applies.

The advice of two lawyers to me was that if they want to get you, they can find a law to do it. Too damn many laws!

The irony. The "Republican" party sending America down in flames at the hands of illegal invaders. And the invaders don't even fire a shot.

That is just a stupid rant posting the same Bush is stupid and lazy crap. Grow up.

I must say that that is one of the best refutations of an article I have ever read.

Sounds like you are intimidated by that information.

What should I be intimidated about. Bush is intellectually lazy. Wow! No one has ever said that before! What a bombshell! Being lambasted by someone he fired! And lets see. Who has said he is an intelligent and engaging man? Brit Hume. Bill O'Reilly. Fred Barnes. Bill Samon. I have my beef with this administration - specifically the border and immigration issue. But this crap about his NG service, his intellect, etc., is old. It was not news worthy when it was first reported and even less so now. Again, grow up. BT AR!

Now I am confused. Are you sure you posted the original response to the right thread? The link I provided had nothing to do with what you are referencing.

We are supposed to live in a Republic, no tyranny of the majority.

If you are not going to arm yourself and shoot the cop who tries to put out your cigarette (or, say, joint), then you are going to have to live with tyranny and the results of votes. The majority makes whatever rules it can get away with without being shot. Even in a republic. Tyranny makes way only from gunfire.

"And who the hell knows who is pulling Bushes strings, I don't have a clue."

Dear djf; Get a clue!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist writing that.

Actually, I do have a pretty good idea of who is "pulling his strings".

Hint: follow the money. That is an overly simplistic clue that will lead you to the international cartel of business and political insiders, the most powerful people in the world.

Well, this is what I got when I clicked on your link. This is where the link took me - http://www.vdare.com/sailer/bush_thinking.htm

Thie is the headline of the article - The Bush Betrayal: Maybe He’s Not Thinking But Feeling—Family Feeling, Mexican Style

This is a paragraph in the article - That's one of the two main lessons in the first and probably most objective biography of the man, First Son: George W. Bush and the Bush Family Dynasty by reporter Bill Minutaglio. He interviewed 300 people who had known George W. So far as I can tell, he couldn't find a single one who remembered the future President ever saying anything interesting.

Now, did someone hijack your link or did you not even read it yourself. Grow up.

Grow up.

That's the link. Apparently you think you are some wizened old man that is so much more mature than everyone else. Perhaps that's why you can't debate - your ego won't let you.

By growing up do you mean that we should all bow down to your perceived wisdom?

Oh, another thing. You pick out one sentence and ignore all the rest. That's surely the mark of an intelligent, mature person.
