Am I the only one that gets angry reading these "smoking gun" documents now that the pooch, cattle and the neighbors canary has been screwed?

Okay. It's just that any country with chem weapons units has them train a lot with chem weapons, and that includes countries that have no chemical capability of their own. But anyway....

There's no question that the guy was lying. And to me, the real killer is Tommy Franks's statement that he was informed personally by both Mubarak and King Hussein that Saddam had told them he had chems and would use them.

Now at that point, we have no choice. Because if Saddam was telling other Arab leaders that he really had WMD's, those leaders knew that we knew that, and we then backed down, all our credibility would have been in the crapper. Our threats would have been meaningless because we would have been seen as backing down. His own lies justified our actions.

This document is not a smoking gun or anything that shows Saddam WMD stocks and these particular Chemical training exercises are "defensive in appearances and tactics" but most importantly it shows the beyond any doubt strategy of the Saddam Regime "Keep the Chemical Programs ready so when the opportune moment will come, they go into mass production again".
