SAN JOSE - A day after some 25,000 people marched for immigrants' rights in downtown San Jose, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors narrowly passed a resolution that opposes criminalizing undocumented immigrants and those who help them. Instead, the board adopted a resolution that supports legalization for immigrants who have lived in the United States for five years or more.

I'll bet SF passes something similar soon too.

Yeah, you and Jefferson Davis think the same.

Cut their federal matching funds off & see how principled the supervisors are.

My guess is they'll bust their butts rescinding this resolution. They do LOVE their matching funds.

Please don't forget Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. I do wonder why you nationalists are so against returning this nation of states to the Federal Republic which was intended...

Seems to be way too much of this stuff going on at the local level. It seems that we have descended to a point where state or federal law have no meaning...just the local mobs.

"I don't think they'd like that, but I gurantee it can be done!"

Let's start bringing them in. If we're going to turn America into a lawless free-for-all, let's make sure we're not playing ethnic favorites. How soon can we get a half million Pakistanis in town? My lawn needs mowed, and I've been itching to open up a big-box jihad supply outlet.

Does mean that they local laws override Federal Laws?

In California, where city clerks decide one day "Okay, we'll do gay marriages! Why not?" Oh yeah, sure local laws override Federal laws. Until something bad happens. In that case It's Bush's Fault.

I would wager that some Santa Clara Supervisors have 'illegal alien ancestor' status.

"How about the logistics of the compromise bill?"

How do you even get those illegals that have only been here a year or so to come forward...to be deported?? It ain't gonna happen and those nuts in Washington know it! They only way to get rid of illegal aliens is to go after those who hire them.

BTW, Doug from Upland supplied a great link (but Jim removed the thread) to WeHireAliens.com where you can report employers of illegals.

Look, if we limit it to Seveners (they follow the Aga Khan), they'll be mostly doctors and engineers.

But, for the chance to live and work in America, they'll do lawns and haul the garbage as long as it takes.

I'm sure we could scarf up 100,000 of these guys (including dependents) in short order.

Best of all, they'll live in crowded conditions that would make a Mexican blush.

We can probably acquire peaceful Jains from India ~ but they're fairly comfortable at the moment and will expect a near middle-class lifestyle much sooner ~ 5 to 10 years?!

The Latinos are going to have a run for the money if the Dems get their way on immigration reform.

Something about "Interstate highways are great" and "the other guys got atom bombs and they hate our guts".

Something about "Interstate highways are great"

Not intended to be the business of the national government. I realize Eisenhower sold them under the lie of 'national defense' but it surpasses any hint of 'post roads'

the other guys got atom bombs and they hate our guts".

Nothing to do with the issue but thank you for such a nonsensical response. I see federalism is an ideal completely foreign to the 'faithful'

The barbarians are at the gates, and this is not quite the moment to be all that concerned which neighborhood the defenders come from.

The resources of the nation must be dedicated to the defense of all.

Now, about all that welfare stuff? Different issue.

Too many faux Conservatives think national defense can be accomplished without "national" systems in place. I think they're wrong. That also means you can't leave it to the Governors of New Mexico and Arizona to defend the Southern Border.

"Look, if we limit it to Seveners (they follow the Aga Khan), they'll be mostly doctors and engineers."

Bring 'em on over, but let's not limit them to landscaping (what a waste). Let them set up shop as doctors and engineers. The outcry amongst the elitists that their sons and daughters will actually have to compete for income will have the borders closed instantaneously.

"report to the proper law enforcement authorities only..."

Within minutes of reporting on WeHireAliens.com, I got a call from the FBI. Is that proper enough for you?

That it's a conservative website.

Did you happen to watch the History channel the other night? Historians are predicting a global Nazi-like government on the horizon. Personally, I think the King of the Universe is going to make an appearance very soon.

Homeland Security is interested in finding employers who hire illegals. If you report employers who hire illegals on WeHireAliens.com, you will be directed to their office by the FBI.

Then, agreed, we bring ALL the Seveners to America. The great "777" migration has begun. I'm churning out those power bills showing residence as we speak!
