LOL! You have GOT to be kidding. Your reply made no sense at all.

The barbarians are at the gates, and this is not quite the moment to be all that concerned which neighborhood the defenders come from.

Au contraire. You either believe in the system or you don't. If you don't, you're no better than liberals who would toss the Constitution at whim to fit in one of their programs. Of course we are talking about Republicans, who have a history of tossing the Constitution out when it suits their needs

Too many faux Conservatives think national defense can be accomplished without "national" systems in place. I think they're wrong. That also means you can't leave it to the Governors of New Mexico and Arizona to defend the Southern Border.

Quite right. Republiicans aren't conservative. However again, no one is asking the governors of New Mexico or Arizona to defend anything, even though it's quite apparent Republicans don't plan to do anything about it. What is up to the legislatures of those states however is if they choose to ignore federal law. Jefferson and Madison made it quite clear the states had that right. Now of course if you want to argue with the author of the Declaration and the Father of the Constitution, be my guest.

Does mean that they local laws override Federal Laws?

Exactly my first reaction, and I think the answer's yes.

I guess you have no understanding of the history of this nation of states or its principles upon founding. The Constitution was a pact between 13 separate and sovereign states, it was intended to hold few powers at the federal level but all the rest remained with the states. What also remained with the states was the right to ignore a federal law if the state believed that law or edict to superseded Constitutional powers. It's called nullification (big word I know, I'll give you a bit to look it up). The Constitution was a list of limitations on the federal government, not a document empowering the the federal government to be supreme over the states on all issues.

So let me get this straight. You classify it as nullification when a bunch of Communists in one of Cali's most Leftist counties enact something which undermines US sovereignty? So by your logic, it would also be OK for said county to, for example, embrace Iran? Do I understand your (il)logic correctly?

Establishing treaties with foreign nations or providing support of foreign nations is a little different than ignoring federal law as it pertains to the internal affairs of a state or a county. One has a precedent that can be traced even to the Framers, one does not. Sorry you can't see the difference.

A foreign country, Mexico, is undermining our sovereignty. End of discussion.

No, it's not. Citizens from said country are entering the country illegally. The difference is that it is not an act of the Mexican government itself. Unless you think the Mexican government should quash any attempts to leave their 'lovely' country. What am I saying? As a nationalist who believes the federal government has a right to interfere into the business and daily lives of the citizens of the respective states of course you would believe that...

It's funny how you liberaltarians cannot ever develop the stones to take on Commies like those supes. You defend them against "nationalists" like me. Liberaltarians are the best thing since sliced bread from the POV of the enemies of the US and the West. God forbid that the liberaltarians would ever come to power, we'd be conquered the next day.

Again more slurs of my 'liberalism'. Of course you won't be required to back it up but I take that as SOP.

You defend them against "nationalists" like me.

I do believe you Republicans turn tail and run to that slur for anything you disagree with. They're all commies right?

Secondly I haven't 'defended' a thing other than states rights and nullification, two things you heartily wish the Framers had not advocated. Seeing as they did however....

Liberaltarians are the best thing since sliced bread from the POV of the enemies of the US and the West.

Yep, we're all enemies. We're out to get you.....

God forbid that the liberaltarians would ever come to power, we'd be conquered the next day

Let's see, not interfering with the natural rights of citizens, non-interference into the internal affairs of other nations (thus preventing needless wars). Yep, I've read the Bible. God is against all those things....
