Bush can have speeches all day every day...doesn't mean that the lame-stream has-been dinosaur media will give it any notice. Every time the President gives a speech, the "news" channels find some car chase, fire or some other local issue to cover instead. Even Fox cuts his speeches off.
There's no question that the drive-by media funnels the message. But if the President wants, he's got the bully pulpit. If he were to answer his critics on say, immigration, and explain why his policy conforms with enforcing our laws but growing our country the way we want it grown (Remember the City on the Hill?) he can grab it back. The Press loves a catfight. I think it's time we had one. I think it's time to name names. They started last Saturday with Harry Reid, but not enough people listen to the Saturday Radio show.
