$500,000 seized, strange situation at American nuclear plant

Snip: State police said the men drove up to the Beaver Valley Power Station in a tractor-trailer on Tuesday night to pick up two large containers of tools for a contractor for whom they worked. Security guards stopped the men for a routine inspection, but they drove away, police said.

The guards became suspicious and called police, who pulled the truck over about a mile from the plant. A state trooper got a warrant to search the vehicle and found a duffel bag, which he said contained $504,230 in mostly small bills.

Beechnut recalls baby food with bone

Snip: Beech-Nut Nutrition Corporation, a Canajoharie, N.Y., firm, is voluntarily recalling approximately 9,465 pounds of chicken product due to the possible presence of pieces of bone, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

Oregon emergency medical services decaying

Snip: Oregon's emergency medical services system, which licenses ambulance services and emergency medical technicians and oversees hospital trauma centers, was once so good it could have been a model for the nation.

But things have decayed badly. A federal study released Monday found that the state's EMS system has undergone such "dramatic deterioration" that it places Oregon residents at risk, and it called for "immediate, dramatic change."

Egypt thwarts attacks on tourist sites

Snip: The Egyptian government yesterday said it had arrested a group of 22 militant Islamists planning bomb attacks on tourist targets, a gas pipeline near Cairo and Muslim and Christian religious leaders. The Interior Ministry said in a statement the underground organisation called itself "Al Taefa Al Mansura" (Victorious Group)and had members in suburbs northeast and south of the capital.

"Information, documents and interviews ... confirmed that they were studying carrying out terrorist operations against tourist targets, the gas pipeline on the Greater Cairo ring road and some sensitive sites through bombings," it said. "They were also studying targeting some Muslim and Christian religious figures and ... what they called degenerate youth in tourist areas," it added.

Iranian warning: Don't listen to Western CDs

Snip: On this particular day, five young males were tied to posts. Hundreds stood by, staring, some cheering. These males were stripped to their waists, backs ready for the torture. Security officers stood sternly, encircling the lawbreakers. Loud speakers blared out the names of the men, informing the populous of their offenses.

It was stated that these five men, having had some liquor, had flirted with girls in a park. This equals 80 whiplashes per male flesh, according to John Ward Anderson of The Washington Post. Public flogging is daily scenery for the Allah enthusiasts. Listening to CDs from the West could yield flesh torn by severe whip slices ripping the skin.

Hundreds nabbed in immigration raid

Snip: Immigration agents arrested seven executives and hundreds of employees of a manufacturer of crates and pallets Wednesday as part of a crackdown on employers of illegal workers.

Authorities raided offices and plants of IFCO Systems in at least eight states, the culmination of a yearlong criminal investigation, law enforcement officials said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested seven current and former IFCO Systems managers on charges they conspired to transport, harbor and encourage illegal workers to reside in the United States for commercial advantage and private financial gain, said Glenn T. Suddaby, the chief federal prosecutor in Albany, N.Y., where some arrests were made.

Simcox ultimatum to Bush: `Build fence or Minutemen will'
KVOA ^ | 4/19/2006 | none

Posted on 04/19/2006 10:14:36 PM EDT by HEMICRASHBOX

TUCSON, Ariz. Minuteman border watch leader Chris Simcox has a message for President Bush -- build new security fencing along the border or private citizens will.

Simcox says he's also sending an ultimatum to the president to deploy military reserves and the National Guard to the Arizona border by May 25th, or Minuteman volunteers and supporters will break ground and start erecting fencing privately.

The Minuteman leader says a half-dozen landowners along the Arizona-Mexico border say they'll allow fencing to be placed on their borderlands.

Simcox says the border barrier-and-fencing complex would include a six-foot deep trench so a vehicle can't crash through.

Other features may include coiled, razor-edged barbed wire, in front of a 15-foot high heavy-gauge steel mesh fence angled outward at the top.

This is a strange story!

No one claims $500,000 stash in truck
Thursday, April 20, 2006

Thursday, April 20, 2006

By Cindi Lash, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

When security guards at the Beaver Valley Power Station discovered a bag containing thousands of dollars in a tractor-trailer cab, one of the vehicle's occupants told them his boss planned to use the cash to buy a truck.

It must have been some truck.

State police said the bag, which guards spotted on Tuesday while conducting a routine search of the tractor-trailer at the entrance to the nuclear power plant, contained 10 plastic-wrapped bundles of cash totaling $504,230.

"Why is Muhammad Abu al-Hawa dead?"
JERUSALEM POST ^ | 4/18/2006 | Caroline Glick

Posted on 04/19/2006 7:18:34 PM PDT by Sabramerican

Our World: Why is Muhammad Abu al-Hawa dead? Caroline Glick, THE JERUSALEM POST Apr. 18, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Muhammad Abu al-Hawa was a 42-year-old father of eight when he died last Wednesday night. As Israeli Jews were beginning our Pessah Seders and retelling the story of our exodus from Egypt and our rebirth as a free nation, Abu al-Hawa was being tortured by Fatah terrorists. As we ate our Seder meal, he was shot seven times. As we called out "Next year in Jerusalem," Abu al-Hawa's body and car were torched.

Abu al-Hawa was tortured and murdered because he stood accused of committing what the Palestinians consider a capital crime. Eight young children were orphaned last Wednesday night because their father allegedly sold an apartment building in Israel's capital city to Jews. The building in question is located in Jerusalem's A-Tur neighborhood, just above the Temple Mount on the Mount of Olives.

Muhammad Abu al-Hawa was buried in a makeshift cemetery on the road between Jerusalem where he lived, and Jericho where he was murdered. His body was buried there because the Palestinian Authority's mufti in Jerusalem, Ikremah Sabri, has barred all Muslims accused of selling land to Jews from being buried in a Muslim cemetery."

"'Gun Summit' Called Brainstorming Session on Gun Control"
By Melanie Hunter
CNSNews.com Senior Editor
April 19, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) - A gun rights group said the upcoming "gun summit" planned by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is merely a chance for them to brainstorm on more ways to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) said Wednesday that such a "gun grab" will only lead to more crime, because it will impede the ability of citizens to protect legally themselves.

"Rather than devising and suggesting more restrictions on the rights of law-abiding gun owners, these mayors need to recognize that urban violence is a symptom of deeper problems that their bankrupt social policies perpetuate," said CCRKBA Executive Director Joe Waldron in a press release."

"Ten years ago," Waldron said, "the 'solution' to gun trafficking into

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The summit, scheduled for next week, will include mayors from Dallas, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Washington, D.C., and Seattle. The mayors hope to create a coalition to share information on how city and state officials can work together to convince Congress to help cities deal with illegal guns."
