Pennsylvania State University has cancelled an art exhibition about terrorism and the destruction of Jewish historical and religious sites claiming it "did not promote cultural diversity."
The ten-piece exhibit, by student Josh Stulman, was the result of years of preparation. It was called "Portraits of Terror" and focused on images of Palestinian terrorism, hate-propaganda cartoons printed in PA newspapers and photos of Jewish holy sites destroyed by Muslims.
Just three days before the exhibition was to take place, Stulman received an email from the School of Visual Arts saying that his exhibit on images of terrorism "did not promote cultural diversity" or "opportunities for democratic dialogue" and the display would be cancelled, according to the PSU Collegian newspaper.
"I'm being censored," Stulman told the paper, "and the reason for censoring me doesn't make sense."
The school's director, Charles Garoian responded by saying the images "did not mesh with the university's educational mission." He said the decision was made after reviewing the university's Policy on "Nondiscrimination and Harassment and Penn State's Zero Tolerance Policy for Hate."
The exhibit was sponsored by the Penn State Hillel, according to Stulman, and is aimed at creating awareness on campus about the senselessness of terrorism. Hillel regularly sponsors art exhibits by Jewish students, dealing with Jewish and Israeli themes, as well as secular themes.
Stulman said that the director of the school has refused to meet with him and told the Collegian that advertisements for the event were defaced, with at least one sporting a large swastika that someone had drawn on it.

Seems to me that even Jews should be able to have an opinion and express it. But then what am I thinking? This is the U.S. and we are talking about one of our universities.

It appears that in the mind of the stupefied left "cultural diversity" includes the promotion and excuse of terrorism as simply another cultural practice to be tolerated in the name of "multiculturalism".

Of course exhibits that show art like crucifixes in urine and madonnas with elephant dung are perfectly acceptable and should be government-funded.

Those who associated with the left wing and thought they were on their side are finding out that the left is pro terrorist and anti-freedom of religion or any other kind of freedom except for themselves. Like all Communist, National Socialist and other people who believe the government should be the total law in the land and not the people we are now seeing the left prove its hate mongering and support for any enemy of the American People or Israel.

did not promote cultural diversityThey are crazy! Of course it promotes cultural diversity. It shows how one culture is very diverse from another. One is barbaric and the other is responding to this diversity. Before we can come together, we need to understand our diversity. There, doesn't that sound pretty PC?

It's not only your school, but the MSM and dumbocraps also. If you would like to read about "the Harlot of Babylon" (Islam) go to yourarmatoisrael.org and access "the End Time Beast-the Harlot of Babylon" by Rabbi Moshe Koniuchowsky. Learn what Daniel 9 states about Ha-Allah. I read it yesterday and it was very informative.

The most definitive proof of your statement can be found in the emails that Michele Malkin received and posted last week after her UCSC blog entry appeared.
Do you want to know who the "Enemy Within" is? Go to that blog and read the words of these people. I was absolutely stunned.
I do not usually follow Mrs. Malkin's blog, and I am aware that she is outspoken re the ILLEGAL immigration issue, as she herself is of Filipino descent and highly indignant at all times that anyone would "cut to the head of the line", and I don't really agree with her strident stance on that issue. In true conservative fashion, I am in total agreement with her about the UCSC hippie retro show. So, I linked to her blog via a thread put up here on FR, and saw more hate, and more filth, and more racism than I could have imagined.
I am currently residing in FR Siberia for being less than frothing at the mouth during open season on Mexicans Month.
I am also a Conservative Catholic in every sense, meaning I want all those Peace and Justice weenies to rot in hell! 1/2 joke! I just think that everyone let the MSM lead them by the nose on this issue, that the best and the brightest from every aspect should have been brought together to make a viable solution, and that there really can be a solution. Hence, my reference to MM's blog. You can disagree...why would you ever deliberately be so unkind?

I never feel the need to cry like a child, so why would I alert anyone? I was visiting Sanity Island yesterday, and even lovely FR'r snugs commented sadly on the tone of late.
You might want to take a look at what she wrote, as snugs has far more credibility here than I do, but I do agree with her wholeheartedly.

Do you think if they added some pictures of burned out churches or copies of the death threat letters given to Christian leaders they would approve the exhibit?

You were asking for good examples of cencorship on college campuses? This one is incredible. It is, and I'm not surprised. The PSU chancellor, Graham 'Crackers' Spanier, used to be our chancellor, and he was incredibly PC even then. Seems like a clear-cut case for a
truly decent and bona fide civil liberties attorney to take on:
The artist's federally protected constitutional right to free speech has been violated by a state agency.
Therefore, a federal civil suit under 42 USC Sec. 1983 would be appropriate, IMHO.
Now would the ACLU stand up and be counted for this abused student? Don't hold your breath. It doesn't fit into their political agenda, you see.
To: ishabibble
