The victim was relaxing in his living room and reportedly heard creaking noises. He sprang up and ran across the room just as the floor opened beneath him.

Every day we read about some dumb schmuck doing something stupid and getting himself killed......but every so often, some poor, innocent guy minding his own business is in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could be any one of us.....

Hmm. You know you're not living right when a sinkhole swallows your recliner and your living room with you in them.

Something you don't see every day.

And, apparently, neither did he.

Like something from a horror movie.

When I read the first lines of that article, I actually thought it was a comic spoof. Then I realised it wasn't.

My Grandma used to tell us that things like that happened to bad little boys.

He sprang up and ran across the room just as the floor opened beneath him.

How do we know this?

Was someone else (not mentioned) there with him? how did this person escape?

Otherwise, he could have just been sitting on the couch when he got swallowed up...
