Immigration Forum Gets Intense

Reflecting intense passions over illegal immigration, a Los Angeles outdoor forum about its impact on blacks quickly became a screaming match Sunday between those urging a crackdown on undocumented migrants and others counseling tolerance.

The gathering at Leimert Park in South Los Angeles, which eventually involved about 100 people, was aimed at publicizing what some blacks believe has been illegal immigration's negative effect on their neighborhoods, housing, schools and jobs, said Ted Hayes, founder of the Crispus Attucks Brigade, an African American group newly organized to fight the influx of undocumented migrants.

ADVERTISEMENT"Illegal immigration is the greatest threat to African Americans since slavery," Hayes said, before stepping onto a park bench and leading about 30 people in chants: "We're fired up! We can't take it no more!"

But no sooner had Hayes begun to speak when a handful of other blacks approached him with their own loudspeaker, yelling a counter message of unity in Spanish and English.

"The people united will never be divided!" yelled Julia Wallace, an African American member of the Progressive Alliance, as a handful of her supporters waved signs urging worker unity.

Hayes' supporters were later challenged by a few Latinos who wandered into the park and ended up in face-to-face debates over jobs, lawbreaking, the Mexican economy and a host of other hot-button issues.

When Terrance Lang, a 41-year-old African American, complained that Latino immigrants were taking jobs from blacks, Jose Haro, a 21-year-old Mexican American, retorted that maybe blacks weren't looking hard enough for them.

"It's so easy to find a job anywhere!" Haro said. "I find one in one day: moving companies, offices, anything. These people are lazy," he said, referring to blacks

Is is possible that Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy did not allow them to speak out on this issue?

Unfortunately, we see this type of warfare seething in Dallas on a daily basis...liberal mayor and city council unable to cope with dividing 'diversity' goodies between blacks and hispanics. Translates to a disasterous public school system and soaring crime rates.

These idiots are more concerned with smoking bans than public safety...and it is going to get a lot worse over time.

This, is what will drive many blacks to the conservative movement.It's great to be a liberal and love social programs when your the guy CASHING the checks.........but become the guy WRITING the checks and your opinion soon changes drastically.

On two or three occasions here, I have repeated the incident of the black exterminator bemoaning his pending loss of his job because his boss admitted "he could hire an illegal alien cheaper than he could pay the black." This exterminator had been with the company for 10 years, too.

I have repeated this story more than once to Frist, Hutchison, and Cornyn, telling them the reason I had the exterminator in the first place was to satisfy the closing of my house, a house we had worked our hearts out to improve for nearly 15 years when a gang of illegals moved in next door and virtually ran us off.

We must never relent. We must demand an end to all new applications for immigration until we enforce the laws to allow illegals to self-deport--and that means throwing the employers in jail. THAT'LL get their attention!

That says it, Backhoe, and it's all under the domination of the Left, its propaganda machine (the "Mainstream Newsmedia"), and its political machine (the Democrat Party).

The Left is the enabler and the exploiter of Islamoterrorists, illegal aliens, and the other enemies of the U.S.A. Those who abandon the Republican Party are de facto giving their support to these people.

The Republicans have played into their hands by inaction, ineptitude, and carelessness, but the Democrats actively support the enemies of America, which is much worse.
