I like this idea. I believe it has merit.

Simply pass a law about illegal immigration that matches, word-for-word, the law in Mexico. Being in Mexico illegally is a crime Bump

Bush should have the fences around the White House removed so his buddies, the "immigrants" can migrate from the south lawn to the north lawn.

It has a LOT of merit. If we did all those things, they would leave on their own.

This is great but it is too much common sense for congress.
Close the borders and strangle the flow of money to congress...they won't change anything as long as they have the power and the need to vote pander.
Let's pass The FairTax: it gives US back the power and any illegals that do hang around will be taxed just like everybody else.

All of this works for me. Particularly doing away with 'anchor babies' and taxing the remittances.

I find it hilarious that uber-Libertarin boortz all of the sudden wishes to hurt business(ala hillary). Hillary wishes to do it by regualtions and taxes, Boortz because he doesn't like the people they hire
Oh I forgot, he does it for cheap pandering, nevermind.

IMO, this addresses the root cause. That being the removal of the economic advantage to the illegal and the employer for using illegal labor.
Puer and simple, illegal immigration is about TAX EVASION. Hard to believe the fed hasn't gotten in on that action yet.
For trying to be a law abiding citizen and filing a tax return, you are more likely to get in a bind with the IRS than an illegal.

As much as I would love to see them all go back to where they came from and as good as all of these ideas sound, I don't see how to convince anyone who to go back to a place where they will be forced to steal just to put food on the table when they can stay here and steal while putting more than just food on the table. It wouldn't be the first time a black market has flourished in our country because of laws and policies.

I do feel sorry for most of these illegals.... I believe their life is hard in their country...
...but Mexico is Vicente Fox's problem, and he should be ashamed of himself for not trying to fix it!
...and not only are we getting average folks, but criminals and thugs and they can cross our border as easily as anyone.....
..and hey, how about terrorists!

1. Close the borders. Not next month. Now. Send the National Guard. Send American troops. What are they for if not to defend the borders of this country? Start stringing the barbed wire. Patrol with dogs. Do whatever needs to be done, but shut the border down. Let the rest of the world scream, but we have every right to defend our borders against invaders.
AMEN AMEN AMEN! Do it - NOW!

The only change I would make is stopping the transfer of funds out of the country entirely.
If that really can't be done - I mean really, not just inconvenient etc. - then tax virtually all of it.

immigration, entrance of a person (an alien alien, in law, any person residing in one political community while owing allegiance to another. A procedure known as naturalization permits aliens to become citizens .
Each nation establishes conditions upon which aliens will be admitted, and makes laws concerning them. Most countries, including the United States, forbid or limit the admission of criminals, paupers, and the diseased. Certain groups and nationalities may be unconditionally excluded from legal residence, but such discrimination is likely to cause international friction.

Motives for immigration, like those for migration generally, are often economic, although religious or political factors may be very important. High rates of immigration are frequently accompanied by militant, and sometimes violent, calls for immigration restriction or deportation by nationalist groups.

Great ideas, every one.
Now figure the odds that Congress will aprove any of them. To say the least, I'm skeptical.
I wonder how many American citizens it would take, to form a barrier, shoulder to shoulder, across the entire border with Mexico??
If there's no other way to stop the flow, a solid line of citizens blocking the way would make one hell of a statement. I'm thinking a grassroots effort to reinforce the Minutemen down on the Border.
Instead of driving to Jellystone this summer, why not drive to the Border and help defend your Country against an ongoing invasion??
