It appears Rush is starting to validate what may already may be happening in the country that three political parties. Republican Democrat Conservative Maybe the time has come for a new political party. I would interested to what others think. Where I am at in Illinois, it appears that the party focus is on having a liberal agenda. When Rush Limbaugh mention at the end of the first hour Republican, Democrat, and Conservative. I could not be more in agreement.

There is already a 'Conservative' party affiliation in many states. But strategically, is it better to change from within or split a base that you still agree with 75% of the time, risking giving power to a base that you agree with only 1% of the time?

Partisan power means little to most Americans.

There will not be three parties in my view, but eventually two conservative parties. They will be:

A. Freedom oriented conservatives, ie free trade, free market etc.

B. Standards conservatives, ie use the government to stop things that they do not like.

The loony left will dwindle away.

I have identified myself as a "conservative" rather than a Republican for at least 20 years.

Both Rush and you are correct in your thinking.

Perot statistically took about the same votes from both sides. Bush1 lost because he lost touch with the base of his party. He did that to himself just like is boy is.

Thank you for exsposing yourself as a Deaniac Virtual Campaigner. This has ONE purpose, to split the Repblican vote and elect Democrats. Spare us the psuedo "Conservative" retoric. This sort of intellectually vacous retoric has ONE purpose, help elect Democrats. So either by intent, or as a uninteneded consequence, the 3rd party clowns are actively working for the DNC and Howard Dean.

Interesting post. I sometimes speak of "libertarians" and "social conservatives" as well.

But IMHO there will always be a left, as long as sloppy, illogical thinking is around . . .

:)

I've heard it suggested that anyone who can't take it anymore should drop their membership in their respective party and register as INDEPENDENT.

I'm considering this.

Voting for a third party is stupid. I hate the Republicans big-spending ways and their pandering on illegal aliens. But we were close to announcing the death of the Democratic party after the election in 2004. The Democratic party is fighting an even bigger internal debate about which way to go. Let's stay the course and punish the Democrats until they kick out the loony left. Then we can kick out the RINOs and the logrollers.
