Is The 2005 Priest Story A Fraud?
RiehlWorldView ^ | 4/26/2006 | Riehl

Update: In 2002 the WaPo called the International detention (prison) story vital - in 2005 they quote another official calling it a burden. In 2002 they informed people that Clinton initiated the practice of extraordinary rendition. In 2005, they made it look like a creation of George Bush.

What changed?

Riehl points out the amazing similarity between the recent Pulitzer article by Priest and one written in 2002, also published in the WaPo.

Interesting questions are why the re-publication and why does this re-hash now get a Pulitzer?

I like the fact that this duplicitous articale gets pointede out, but do we really need to question the intent of the WaPo and Preist? seems rather obvious.

Good catch. In other words, the same story was published as news in 2002 and as propaganda in 2005. The Pulitzer Prize Committee ignored it when it was news, but gave it the prize when it was propaganda.

Once again, we see that the powers behind the scene INSTRUCT the Pulitzer Prize Committee who should get the award. And in that back scratching coterie of journalists, editors, politicians, and journalism professors, with the same people often moving from one area to another, in and out of academia or public service, the message always gets through.

The story appears to have been a lie. However, the publishing of that story brought hell to pay to some of our allies abroad.

It has been speculated that the whole story was plastic cheese.

MacRanger does stay on top of things and has connections in DC. But the statement that Fitz said in that statement still makes me very nervous. Hasn't decided if he'll be charging anyone.

I don't know that MacRanger has the connections to identify what's taking place with Fitz. He's just following others that actually don't know either. MacRanger appears to have some very good connections at the DOJ...but Fitz is out of that loop being a SP and all. Until Fitz closes this perjury investigation up, I'll not rest easy.

Didn't read all of it, it's a little long, but will later, it looks pretty good.

Basically the 2005 Priest Pulitizer prize story was a nearly point by point rehash of a story the WaPo did in 2002.

Why reprint old news with new spin if not to advance an adgenda.

Aren't these the same people who say they don't want to cover the Irag documents because they are "old news".

"Basically the 2005 Priest Pulitizer prize story was a nearly point by point rehash of a story the WaPo did in 2002. "

That's basically it but a key piece of the original 2002 story missing from the 2005 version is that Clinton started the practice of secret rendition.

Perhaps dropping the reference to Clinton is what now qualifies it for a Pull-it-sir.
