I've been afraid Hassert would be the weak link, if I remember correctly he already screwed Sensenbrener a year ago on a bill by promising they would take up illegal immigration as soon as they returned from a Christmas break and then "forgot about it." I had no reason to believe he wouldn't do something similar this time around. He may be a kindly, jolly-looking, man, but he hasn't exactly been our friend. With friends like this why do we even need a GOP majority in either house?

The GOP will not get one dime from me or my vote this fall or maybe even 2008. I feel like I need a shower after these gutless RINO's forgot their principals and the people who voted for them. We need a third party now!!

They won't get a dime from me either. Only those candidates who oppose amnesty have a hope of getting a dime off of me. If you want to do what I did, click on the link below, print out the "peso" and mail it back to the RNC using their own postage paid envelope. I just mailed mine in a few days ago.

Congress should stall all immigration legislation until after the Mexican elections on July 2.

If Lopez Obrador wins it could mean major changes for US/Mexican relations. Some of his rhetoric sounds like Hugo Chavez on Prozac.

I predict the possibility that he and our leader will not be good friends. Vinnie el Zoro Quesdillas is basically a good honest Mexican political crook who couldn't overcome the handicap of an overwhelming PRI majority in the Senate and National Assembly and deliver to his base - imagine how Bush would have governed with a 70% Democrat majority in both houses.

Lopez Obrador spews a lot of soft socialist spin of the kind that the US media types (and poorly educated voters on both sides of the border) lap up. This conceals a world view that is major commie bad news.

They've all been quiet on the House side lately, I'm wondering if there's some backroom deal going on?? I don't know if the CIRC would take the steps that you said about temporarily leaving the GOP caucus but something drastic like that might be needed to stop any amnesty. I can only hope they'd have the guts to do it.

"What War on Terror? The one where Americans are strip searched and their items pawed through at the airports while thousands of miles of border remain wide open? The one where the government and its friends at Fox News tries to keep us in fear of "terrorists" thousands of miles away to distract us from all the ones walking in via Canada and Mexico?"

I've been saying the EXACT same thing for about three years now.

FAIR Learns from Hill Sources: Hastert will Buck the American Public and Appoint Members Favoring Guest Worker Amnesty to House Conference Committee Throughout the Senate debate on immigration reform, members of the Senate have tried to develop strategy around the Conference Committee. The Conference Committee will be made up of Members from both the House of Representatives and the Senate appointed by the Leadership of each chamber. The Conference Committee is responsible for hammering out the differences of the enforcement/border security bill the House passed in December (H.R. 4437) and whatever legislation the Senate can pass.

Another anonymous source? Why are folks on this thread setting their hair on fire over a story based on an anonymous source? If the Senate recognized that they could not get Hagel-Martinez through conference, or the Senate for that matter, why does anyone think that they can get it through conference? This story does not hold together.

At first, something just didn't seem right about the cattle prodding and pawing. OK, well, *maybe* I could accept that if it all weren't for show. Then, people kept saying that after the election ('04), the president would focus on the border. Yes, he did, he just kept focusing on foreign interests instead of what the vast majority of the American public wanted and continues to want.

So, early last year I figured out the game :(

I hope everyone here believes in the one true God.
When things look bleak on earth, I look to the heavens.
That seems to be the only sustennance I have as do millions of others, to know that we will come into the Lord's presence. Nothing I desire compares with GOD.
Amen.

security danger of course.
I see a big risk.
May need to up my arsenal.
If they demand these rights that they do not have the right to demand, they will demand from the gov't to pardon their crimes and saying that they own the land and they can do whatever they want.

They committed a crime getting over here and since they have already gotten away with it, they will use the same mentality that they can get away with other acts becasue the gov't will let them get away with it.

So, for all you gun owners, I would suggest going down to your local gun store and have these images in your mind.

I figure to get some backlash on my statement but they do not care.

They have blatant disregard for our laws, what makes anyone think that will obey them once they get in the country?

Gov't in particular.
