We're on borrowed time in this pitiful state. Every day it gets worse and worse. We are totally inundated by liberals from NJ (my home state), NY, and MA. Don't know why it couldn't have been conservatives who moved here. I have a friend who moved here from MA in 1979 to get away from the libs there. Now she's tearing her hair out here. Vermont is just San Francisco east.

If he had some elective experience, I'd say "right on"! It would be a great choice. But the country hasn't ever had a person who didn't come from the military, a Senator or a Governor as President. There's always a first time, I'm just not sure it's politically do-able.

It just makes me wonder again, aloud, When will his appointment be made permanent? Because of Sen. (cries-a-lot) Voinovich, he's still UN Ambassador only on a recess appointment which expires in January!
good question
& PS: Thank you Mr. Bolton

I don't think he'd have the patience for the bs. He appears not to suffer fools lightly.
Here's a fun thing to imagine. There's another vacancy on the Supreme Court. Bush nominates Bolten. Leahy and Kennedy start grandstanding and Bolton slaps the bleep out of them. Ah, I can dream can't I?

Most of Vermont is rural. My town probably has 2,500 people. The elementary school has under 200 kids. We live on a dirt road with no town water, no town sewer, no garbage pickup, no streetlights, no mail delivery and no police department. For this we pay outrageous taxes. Not a bad as the folks in NJ but it gets worse every year. The only great service we get is snowplowing. We have a great town crew. Most of our tax dollars go to the school which turns out below par students.

If there's another Supreme Court vacancy, I think the President should appoint Orrin Hatch. He's the one Conservative that can stop the Liberal interest groups because he's a Member of the club...

He also gets on my last nerve. I'm tired of republicans who wouldn't say bleep if they had a mouth full. I want guys who make sense, have a brain and have a low threshold for stupidity. Basically, I want a congress full of John Bolton types.

What's going on. Are we an Idol free zone today? I got on the thread originally (and, as usual got side tracked) to see what you all thought of the show last night. IMHO Paris is toast.

Really like our home, but when the neighborhood becomes a threat (philosophical, political, educational, financial..) to my family, that home becomes just a house that's half pile of sticks and the rest millstone.
ESPECIALLY when I'm paying top dollar in taxes that do nothing but support the things in the neighborhood that offend me, and I have absolutely no hope of changing that environment.

Did someone mention Idol?

That is my hope. I thought the 3 guys were great. I loved Taylor and both of his songs.

Taylor got trashed by the judges but he was best IMHO.
New Rule! No leaving the stage anymore. Or singing on your knees.
Gratuitous pic.
