Surprise, surprise . . . NOT. People who know PA have been saying for some time that Santorum's poll numbers were exactly the same six years ago.

Santorum holds, DeWine and Talent and Burns hold, and we gain MN (and possibly NJ).

Or, +1 in the Senate, exactly as I predicted six months ago.

If we did +1 in the Senate the MSM would have a meltdown.

The disgruntled Right, as opposed to the Right, will not be pleased. They want the Republicans to lose the Senate and House. They want majority leader Reed, Ted Kennedy, Hillary, Nancy Pelosi, Dennis Kucinich and the gang to run (ruin) America. Since this represents and improverment for Santorum, they will not be pleased.

I think the Pat Toomey ads helped.

Rick should rent an RV and camp out in the middle of the state until election day.

There's no ground to gain in the cities. If the Republican T turns out he wins. If not, we loose a good man.

I do not understand some people. I want Republicans because we share some common ground. We can screams and holler and throw rocks, and they will do the same, It's a family fight. Dealing with Dims, on the other hand, is like The Hatfields and the McCoys.

Well, I'm not predicting this, but I will NOT be surprised if we +2. If Katherine Harris wasn't having such trouble in FL, we'd be looking at +3.

Exactly, John Zogby can counter this with some propaganda poll in no time!
I hear this Casey guy is as dumb as the Moussaui jury so I expect Santorum will keep gaining momentum regardless of the BS polls the drive by media feed us.

While the Republicans look bad in (1) President's job approval, (2) right direction/wrong direction, and (3) generic Congressional poll, we also have (1) GOP candidates for Governor/Senator doing better, (2) economy doing well, and (3) our position in Iraq doing well. Go figure!

I really hope Santorum pulls it off. RINOs want a Santorum defeat to push their agenda. Christy Todd Whitman is ready to go on tv to say "Santorum is proof that conservativism sinks and Rudy is the way to go in 2008".

"There's no ground to gain in the cities."

True, but the suburbs will give Santorum the election. I think Santorum will run fairly strongly in the Democrat-trending Philly suburbs (the one place where he will substantially outperform President Bush's 2004 percentage) and beat Casey. Here's my full analysis: http://auh2orepublican.blogspot.com/2005/08/rick-santorum-vs-bob-casey-jr.html

I must admit that I am surprised. Is this an independent poll from a reputable company? What has Casey been doing wrong lately?
