Giuliani Gets A Big Boost From Bush
The New York Sun ^ | 5/5/06

Posted on 05/05/2006 6:23:42 AM PDT by areafiftyone

President Bush is lending Rudolph Giuliani some big-money muscle for his potential presidential bid.

When Mr. Giuliani traveled through Iowa on a scouting trip Monday, reporters didn't recognize the woman at his side, Anne Dickerson, who was on her first road trip since discreetly becoming Mr. Giuliani's lead fund-raiser a few weeks ago.

(The hiring of Ms. Dickerson was first reported on The New York Sun Web site yesterday.)

Ms. Dickerson rose to prominence during the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign, when she wrangled Texas-size cash from donors. Sources said the White House signed off on her role as Mr. Giuliani's presidential cashier.

Mr. Giuliani and Ms. Dickerson will be raising money on the road again next week in battleground Michigan and must-win Ohio. Their goal is to raise $200,000 by June 13, when Mr. Giuliani holds a cocktail fund-raiser at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Manhattan. It's the first time America's Mayor has passed the hat since he earned the unofficial title.

Conservatives are persona non grata at the White House.

That's at the behest of the voters. Not the current occupant.

Immigration is OFF topic.

Immigration is 'on topic' when yer talking about attributes of a potential presidential candidate...You can mention his stance on abortion but not illegal aliens???

You can mention his stance on the WOT but not immigration??? Who you trying to kid???

To be honest with you, yesterday morning I was thinking on the page here at FR and I am thinking of just no longer logging in and maybe checking out some articles but looking elsewhere for my "internet home". I hate (as I've said already) those self-serving "Goodbye" postings, and this isn't one of them, but this place is becoming Bushbash Central. I LIKE criticism of the President--I've done lots of it and gotten into battles for it--but every...single...thread is a "Jorge" and "traitor" thread. It's like the worst of the Schiavo era--every thread becomes a thread on That Issue.

I've been coming here since 2001 and sensed this change around the Dubai story. I dread coming here, and one of these mornings I'm just not going to. Won't be the end of the world, no one will much notice or care, but it will sadden ME, because a place I really, REALLY enjoyed will have been corrupted by lunatics.

I didn't address this to the Admin because who needs to read a whinefest like this? But man, this place has been overrun, and I just might mosey on into the sunset. Too bad, not for this place, which will prosper, but for ME! Because I'll miss it, or at least miss what it once was.

This is what Rudy Giuliani says about Borders:

"Giuliani said the federal government should stick to what it alone can do, sealing borders against illegal immigrants, deporting criminal aliens and negotiating international drug control agreements. Far from accomplishing that, he said, New York City now harbors an estimated 400,00 illegal aliens while only 772 were deported from the New York area in the past year.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT!

I want a real Republican. If the RINOs keep kicking sand in the face of their base, they will be setting the foundations for a third political party.

Then you should welcome the effort to raise money for real Republicans running in '06.

Just keep your eye on Romney . He can beat Hillary and I predict he will be the nominee . I also think Rice would make the perfect running mate for Romney . It would be an unbeatable ticket . He's Presidential material and it will show in the debates .

We need two more judges appointed by Bush -- then bring on Guiliani - he can handle the terror/crime issue... although I haven't heard his take on illegal border crossers I can't imagine him rewarding them with amnesty or the McCain "Amnesty light" program.
The social issues most of us care about will have to be fought in the Supreme Court as there isn't likely going to be legislative changes - so the President's personal opinion won't matter if he doesn't control the SC appointments. Hopefully Bush will fill at least 2 more, then Guiliani won't have to appoint any!
On the other hand, even if Guiliani has to appoint a SC judge ask yourself - would you rather have a Guiliani appointee, or a Hillary appointee - does the name Ginsberg ring any bells?

Just because you have only one issue that matters to you, doesn't mean you have the right to come on every thread in gangs and change the discussion.

This thread is about Giuliani and the White House's fundraising.

What I want to know, is who pays you this little, well-coordinated gang to attempt to destroy the integrity and intellect of this forum?

I'm amazed at how the immigration issue brought up by the MSM has completely turned everyone here on the President.

I'm not.

The anti-Bush jihad is being led by 8-2004, 9-2004, and 10-2004 signups. They were at the forefront in trashing Bush over Harriett Miers. They then moved to the Dubai ports deal, in wanting Bush's scalp (there is another Dubai purchase that was approved last week, the takeover of Doncasters, which manufactures military material, yet you haven't heard a peep out of them), and now they want the rest of his head over immigration.

The principals in this "get Bush" campaign are always the same, no matter the issue. It is well coordinated, and these DU trolls will intensify their efforts as election day nears.

Just sit back and note the names of the most vocal. Then review their posting history. You'll see what I mean.

GUN CONTROL - that's a state issue - not the federal government - when was the last gun law passed by the House and signed into law - and,,,,,, what was wrong with it?

Brady Bill...Assault weapons ban...2nd Amendment restrictions are debated in congress at the Federal level constantly...

OPEN BORDERS(?) you think Rudy is for open borders - you better read your history - look at this record as a U.S. Attorney...

How about his record as Mayor...In New York City, Rudy is 100% pro illegal immigration...

THANK you, Coop.

What conservative Republicans need to be doing all over this country is working their tails off for the most conservative people out there.

This griping on the Internet, and threatening is absurd.

DO something. Be pro-active. Get conservatives in places of power and stay on them to stick to their guns.

(And keep Giuliani out of the White House)

Don't leave. Make a game of it, as I do. It's easy to get under their very thin skins, and it's just a short step to get them to say something that get's 'em the baby blue screen.

Wow. That's as effective a retort as 'Kool-aid drinker.'

You thugs need to come up with some new insults. The old ones..........coming from YOU, especially........are compliments.

So, THANK you, KeyLargo. That label coming from you is something I am PROUD of. I honor and respect my Commander in Chief during a time of war. I PRAY for my President. I respect his integrity, honor and leadership.

And I think absolutely NOTHING of gangs of disruptors who do their best to destroy what this forum is all about by swarming off topic on every thread to bash a man better than ANY of them.

That shows how smart you are. I'm for SEALED borders. I oppose the President's immigration policy.

But what does the truth matter? Don't let me get in the way of your trolling and bashing fun.....

Bye guys.....
