Me - conservative to the core...

Now - why I like Guiliani.

I want a President who is tough on defense - tough on crime - will allow the people to keep their own money.

I am sick and tired of Republicans wanting the government to intervene in our personal lives. Get the heck out of my house and quit telling me what personal decisions I am allowed to make and not make.

Every time I see someone object to Rudy - it's because he is pro-choice, or pro gay rights. Shut up.

The man shut down the mafia, he made New York a safe city - he is tough - tough - tough.

I say go Rudy - come one - let's have a good old political debate and may the man with the most votes win.

Well-put. Stop characterizing the guy and let's hear him on the issues and look at his record. If he isn't up to snuff, he won't get the nom. But this silly "Oh, he's pro-choice, ta heck with him"--as if having Reagan, Bush 1 and "Jorge" (as his "fans" here call him) as Pro-Life presidents has turned the country around on that issue.

I am pro-life, but I don't see Roe changing by anything any president does; SCOTUS, sure.

But in this era of the WOT, I want a warrior as President. Someone who talks tough on abortion and the issue of the day--in this case immigration, which he will push aside when he gets into office and it falls off the radar--is an instant in with the "Jorge" crowd here, but life isn't so simplistic.

The President deserves lots fo criticism--that's fine. But the pure, unadulterated disloyalty here, with the silly name-calling, is getting ridiculous. This party is careening toward sending a complete, total non-started of the Buchanan stripe into the '08 election.

We DON'T need some mealy-mouthed centrist, or a RINO; conservative Republicans win Presidential elections. But of my choice is between a loudmouth who scares the crap out of people and swings the election to HRC, or Giuliani, who's got a record no one on THIS or any forum can stand up to--from crime to the WOT, where he, not the President (through no fault of his own) was the first leader on the battlefield--I'll take Giuliani.

If Rudy runs he has my vote in the primaries. Of course I will vote for whomever wins the Republican nomination. I am sick and tired of these wimpy pansy Senators.

You talk about personal freedom . Do you like the fact that Rudy also supports more restrictive gun control ? That also falls under the personal freedom category .
If Rudy is out helping Republicans , more power to him . When it comes to the primaries, i'll just say no to Rudy and no to McPain . They don't respect the Second Amendment and they definately won't get my vote .

Friend, killing unborn children goes beyond your "personal life."

Should you be allowed to kill your ailing grandmother in your own house?

Jake,
I agree. I like Rudy. Tough on defense and crime. He transformed NYC. He is a liberal on social issues, but then those issues rarely become important under Presidential power. We need leadership and I am not convinced that Frist or Allen are Presidential. We don't want McCain, who might not be stable.

What about the fact that he is a major league gun-grabber?
